P2700

Transmission Friction Element "A" Apply Time Range/Performance

DTC P2700, sometimes indicated as P270000 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the causing transmission friction element "a" apply time range/performance.

This code is set when the PCM detects that the transmission friction element "A" is not applying within the desired time range. This may be caused by a fault with the transmission friction element "A", a fault with the transmission control module (TCM), or a wiring issue.
The best way to diagnose this code is to use a scan tool to check the transmission fluid pressure and temperature. If the pressure or temperature is outside of the normal range, then there is likely a problem with the transmission. If the pressure and temperature are within the normal range, then the problem is likely with the TCM or the wiring.
