P3446

Cylinder 6 Exhaust Valve Control Circuit Performance

DTC P3446, sometimes indicated as P344600 is an OBD diagnostic trouble code indicating a manufacturer-specific fault with the vehicle powertrain (i.e. engine and gearbox). This code identifies an error with the auxiliary emissions system causing cylinder 6 exhaust valve control circuit performance.

This code is set when the PCM detects that the exhaust valve control circuit is not performing as it should. There are several things that could cause this code to set, including a bad exhaust valve, a bad exhaust valve control solenoid, a wiring issue, or a problem with the PCM.
The first step in diagnosing this code is to check the exhaust valves for proper operation. If one or more of the valves are not operating correctly, then the cause of the code needs to be investigated further. If the valves are operating correctly, then the next step is to check the wiring and connectors for any problems. If there are no problems with the wiring or connectors, then the next step is to test the exhaust valve control solenoid. If the solenoid is bad, then it needs to be replaced. If the PCM is bad, then it needs to be replaced.
