  • USA Recall: If the flexplate separates, the engine may stall, increasing the risk of a crash.
    Cummins, inc. (cummins) is recalling certain l9 heavy duty diesel engines, part number d563018bx03, sold for installation in pierce fire trucks. on some engines, the capscrews that secure the flexplate may not have been properly tightened resulting in the flexplate separating.

    Corrective Action:
    Cummins will notify owners, and cummins dealers will replace the flexplate and capscrews on the subject engines, free of charge. the recall began on july 21, 2017. owners may contact cummins customer service at 1-800-286-6467. cummins' number for this recall is c1914.
