    Shift rod in the transmission shift linkage may not be properly seated in the retention gormmet of the steering column shift lever assembly. if the shift rod were to disengage the operator could no longer select the transmission functions and the transmission would then remain in the last function even though the gear selector had been moved to a position associated with another function. this creates the potential for an unexpected vehicle movement which could result in an accident and personal injuries.
