Recall 2004341

  • CA Recall: Steering
On certain vehicles, the bolts that mount the steering gear to the frame can fail due to bolt quality issues which cause variation in the torque-tension relationship for the joint. this results in an inconsistent clamp load, which can cause the bolt to be either over-stretched (at or above yield strength) or under-stretched when torqued to specification. failure of two of the three bolts could result in loss of steering control. correction: dealers will replace the mounting bolts.
