Recall 2016049

  • CA Recall: Fuel supply
Certain vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard 301 – fuel system integrity. during rear impact crash testing, the fuel filler pipe ruptured, causing fuel spillage exceeding the limit specified by the standard. as a result, a collision involving the rear of the vehicle could result in a fuel leak. fuel leakage, in the presence of an ignition source, could result in a fire causing injury and/or property damage. correction: dealers will remove a bolt on the left rear side member attaching the bracket to the fuel filler pipe. this will change the load path during a rear crash impact preventing filler pipe rupture.
