Recall 2016613

  • CA Recall: Structure
On certain motorcycles, the threads of the side stand pivot bolt may be too short to engage in the locking nut, potentially allowing the side stand pivot to become loose. as a result, the side stand sensor switch may no longer detect the proper position of the stand. this could cause the motorcycle to fail to start while parked, or could cause the engine to stall while the motorcycle is in motion. additionally, it may be possible to start the engine and begin riding with the stand down. these conditions could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. correction: dealers will replace the side stand pivot bolt with a new revised version that has a longer threaded portion. additionally, the torque of the side stand pivot bolt will be increased, and threadlock will be applied.
