    On certain vehicles equipped with the passive blind spot monitoring (bsm) system, the function may not operate properly due to the wrong instrument cluster and steering wheel being installed. as a result, the bsm cannot be activated. if a driver was expecting the system to be functional and were to rely solely on the visual and acoustic warnings of the bsm when attempting to change to or overtake a lane in which another vehicle is travelling, it could increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. correction: dealers will install the correct instrument cluster and steering wheel.
