Recall 2017300

  • CA Recall: Brakes
On certain vehicles equipped with a manual parking brake, the electrical switch which illuminates the parking brake warning light in the instrument cluster could become corroded. this could result in the parking brake warning light intermittently not illuminating when the parking brake is applied. a failure of the parking brake indicator to illuminate when the parking brake is applied can result in a driver misapplication of the parking brake, which may cause the following conditions: effect on vehicle acceleration, parking brake noise and/or parking brake “drag” and smoke and/or smell from driving with the applied parking brake. correction: dealers will replace the parking brake switch with a switch that revised contact material.
