Recall 2020256

  • CA Recall: Powertrain
Issue: on certain vehicles, the propeller shaft may not be properly attached to the intermediate bearing. as a result, the propeller shaft joint could wear out. this could cause vibrations that the airbag (srs) control unit interprets as a crash and deploy the front airbags. safety risk: a sudden deployment of the front airbags without a crash could create a risk of injury. this could also startle the driver, which may lead to a crash. corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the propeller shaft and replace it, if necessary.
