    Issue: on certain vehicles, the brake pedal plate may not be properly welded to the brake pedal arm. as a result, the brake pedal plate could bend, or in some cases, detach. safety risk: a brake pedal that bends or breaks could make braking difficult and increase the risk of a crash. corrective actions: volkswagen will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the weld between the brake pedal plate and arm. if it is not properly welded, the brake pedal will be replaced.
