  • CA Recall: Brakes
    Issue: on certain cars equipped with a 2.0 l t-gdi engine, an engine compartment fire could occur while driving. kia believes that a fire could start in or near the brake hydraulic electronic control unit (hecu). note: this recall does not affect vehicles equipped with smart cruise control (scc). safety risk: the car could catch fire while driving. corrective actions: kia will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to install a new fuse kit. the kit contains two new fuses of 25a instead of 40a, which are designed to prevent an over-current condition. note: you may have received a notice from kia in december 2020 to advise that your vehicle was not part of this recall, however this is a new recall expansion. contact kia canada or your local dealer if you have any questions about this recall.
