  • CA Recall: Wheels
    Issue: on certain vehicles, the flanges on the rear axle shafts may not be flat. as a result, the wheel nuts could loosen and the wheel studs could break. if this happens, a wheel to could come loose or separate from the vehicle. note: this recall only affects vehicles with single rear wheels, a 4.10:1 axle ratio and aluminum alloy wheels. safety risk: a wheel separation could cause a loss of control and increase the risk of a crash. a wheel that separates could also hit another person or vehicle. corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the rear axle shafts. the dealer will replace the rear axle shaft assembly, axle shaft mounting bolts, and rear wheel lug nuts, as necessary.
