  • USA Recall: The rear wheel can shift, causing rear steering of the vehicle. the driver could lose control and a crash could occur.
    Vehicle description: passenger vehicles equipped with rear drum brakes. the bolt head(s) on the rear spindle rod can separate.

    Corrective Action:
    Dealers will replace the rear spindle bolts.

    Additional Notes:
    Owner notification began june 23, 2000. owners who take their vehicles to an authorized dealer on an agreed upon service date and do not receive the free remedy within a reasonable time should contact buick at 1-800-521-7300 or chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020.also contact the national highway traffic safety administration's auto safety hotline at 1-888-dash-2-dot (1-888-327-4236).
