  • USA Recall: This condition could result in reduced braking capacity and increased stopping distances, or part of the anchor plate could separate and fall onto the roadway. either of these could increase the risk of a crash.
Paccar is recalling 2 my 2009 kenworth t270 and t370 4x2 trucks. the anchor plate tie bar which reinforces the anchor plate on 73mm calipers was not installed. under high torque brake applications the slide pins could bind, resulting in a reduction of the braking effort and/or brake drag caused by incomplete brake release; or the anchor plate could fatigue, resulting in a cracked and/or fracture anchor plate.

    Corrective Action:
Dealers will inspect the brakes on the affected chassis for the presence of the anchor plate tie bar; and install the anchor plate tie bar if missing free of charge. all vehicles have been fixed. owner may contact kenworth at 425-828-5440.
