Aftermarket automotive rims failed after approximately 30 days of normal driving. Moda md9 or md9610 were listed as a recommended winter driving rim by a large online retailer out of south bend indiana. After a short period of time noticed strong vibration issues. An approved tire installer reviewed the rims and stated all 4 rims were egg shaped and could not be balanced. Rim runout specs out of range. Egg shaped condition creates steering wheel vibration and an unsafe driving condition. Retailer through their product support, denied any product issues and stated the only way wheels could have deformed was through abnormal use. All 4 rims have been replaced with the same model and have failed in the same manner. Original equipment rims used on this honda odyssey have not had any issues over several years of use. Feel the problems are directly related to defective wheels or rims. *tr

Lexus is300 2002 vehicle rollover on freeway. Defect that caused the car to roll was from the left front wheel/rim broke in half while driving. I was merging and heard something break under the car. My steering wheel turned a hard right forceful and without my control. I tried to straighten the steering wheel out from this involuntary harsh direction of vehicle, it was locked up. I turned completely around facing traffic. All attempts to turn the steering column would not allow me to do so (completely locked position). The vehicle spun and i heard and felt the back end hit something. The car catapulted over a 8 ft. Fence that separates the access road. The car landed on its roof. My airbags never deployed! Impact crushed the roof into the ground i was suspended upside down by my seat belt. The car engine was still running. I attempted to unlatch my seat belt, it took a few attempts. I could not find a door handle, or window to get out. I tried forcing the drivers door open. It would not move, i was trapped inside the upside down vehicle. In a panic, i feared the car would spill gasoline and catch fire. I turned the ignition off. I then realized no one stopped to help...I forced my body to hit the door over and over, to break it open. I got the side mirror to break allowing the door to open a few inches...Just enough to crawl out. I went back in to find my phone and call 911. At that time a person pulled over. I found my phone and for some reason i decided to take a picture of the vehicle. I captured the broken wheel in the picture. Police asked me what happened, i said over and over "it locked up"...My phone battery died right after i took the picture. I didn't have medical coverage for emergency, so i didn't go to the hospital. The cop said, "people don't walk away from this kind of accident" he advised i go with the ambulance, however i couldn't afford the cost. I didn't realize i was injured, until later. No one has ever seen a wheel do that. *tr

Steering is popping and acts like it wants to lock up. Called dealer they said nothing was wrong with it. Called gm they took note. I've had it in the shop for the same problem 3 different times within a yr they repositioned and lubed the i-shaft. Never fixed the problem. My drivers side front area there is a popping noise when its cold. That also was looked at 3 times. I was told there were no problems. It still makes the noise. Actually its getting louder. I was told by gm to take it in and have it diagnosed. I have under 50,000 with no warranty. They want me to pay for something that was supposed to be fixed. And have someone look at something they say doesn't exist. The popping in the steering and left front is still occurring every day but is worse when its cold. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2003 dodge truck. The contact purchased an aluminum dominator alloy adapter plate, which would allow him to switch from an eight lug bolt pattern to a ten lug bolt pattern. The adapter plate failed and caused the front passenger side wheel and tire to detach from the vehicle while driving 50 mph. This failure caused the rotor to fail and damaged the body of the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a mechanic. While replacing the other three adapters; the contact discovered that the front driver side adapter was also cracked, but had not failed. No other vehicle or equipment information was available.

First occurance: 3/05 noticed tire pressure gauge light up in vehicle, went to gas station checked all tires and filled front passenger tire. One day later same tire pressure light on, went to tire shop to fix flat tire and was told that the rim had three hair line cracks in it , took rim to dealer and dealer would not replace. Second occurance: 7/05 same thing happens but to front driver side rim. The vehicle hasn't even been driven enough to get a flat tire let alone a rim with two hair line cracks in it. Dealer will not take responsibility for these rims, and won't even discuss the possibility of a defect. I still have both the rims. I hope you can help me in this matter. Thanks andrea benson
