Two separate fuel line leaks, resulting in raw gasoline leaking onto engine above exhaust manifold were detected by noticing fuel smell at idle. In correspondence with fellow bmw 7-series owners on the internet, i found that this is a very common problem with this series car (e32). Fuel hoses get hard and no longer seal against the metal fuel lines, causing leaks under pressure. I reviewed your incident database and found references to 3 engine fires that might be accountable to the fuel leaks. There should be a government mandated recall for replacement of the affected fuel lines. Sincerely, dr. Mitchell loescher.
