• Recall 142609 [USA]: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain 2009-2011 k1300 (s, gt), 2010-2011 s1000 rr, 2005-2011 r1200 (gs, gs adventure, r, rt, s, st), 2006-2010 hp2 (enduro, megamoto, sport), 2005-2008 k1200 (r, r sport, s, gt), and 2012 k1600 (gt, gtl) motorcycles that were repaired under recall 13v-617 with the support ring remedy and where the fuel pump was not replaced at a later date. This recall involves the fuel pump, and also the auxiliary fuel pump as applicable. The affected motorcycles have a fuel pump flange that may crack, possibly resulting in a fuel leak while the engine is running.
  bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump(s) with an improved version, free of charge. The recall began january 18, 2021. Owners may contact bmw customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

• Recall 114868 [USA]: If the rear wheel mounting flange cracks, the mounting bolts may loosen and the rear wheel may not remain secured to the motorcycle, causing a loss of stability and increasing the risk of a crash.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 r1200gs and r1200rt, 2006-2010 r1200gs adventure, 2007-2010 r1200r, 2007 r1200s and k1200r sport, 2005-2007 r1200st, 2008-2009 hp2 megamoto, 2006 hp2 enduro, 2008-2010 hp2 sport, 2005-2008 k1200s, 2006-2008 k1200r, k1200gt, 2009-2011 k1300s, 2010-2011 k1300r, and 2009-2010 k1300gt motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the rear wheel mounting flange may crack if the rear wheel mounting bolts are over tightened.

  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 model year r-model motorcycles, model year 2005-2012 k-model motorcycles, model year 2010-2011 s 1000 model motorcycles, and model year 2006-2010 hp2 motorcycles. • Recall 88134 [USA]: If that happened, motorcycle handling would be compromised increasing the risk of a crash.
  Bmw is recalling 365 my 2005-2006 hp2 enduro motorcycles. The front threaded fastener of the paralever link may not have been tightened to correct specifications. If the fastener was not tightened according to specifications, it could loosen. Over time, it is possible for the fastener to separate from its housing. If this were to occur, then the final drive of the motorcycle would not be properly supported.
  dealers will remove the front threaded fastener of the paralever link and replace it with an improved fastener. The recall began on january 7, 2009. Owners may contact bmw at 1-800-831-1117.

  Issue: on certain motorcycles, the fuel pump flange could crack. If this happens, fuel could leak while the engine is running. Note: this recall only affects motorcycles that did not have the fuel pump replaced under transport canada recall 2013-442. Safety risk: a fuel leak can create the risk of a fire. Corrective actions: bmw will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorcycle to a dealer to replace the fuel pump and auxiliary fuel pump (if equipped) with an improved version.

  Certain motorcycles with dealer installed accessory turn signals may not comply with the requirements of canada motor vehicle safety standard (cvmss) 108 - lighting system and retroreflective devices. The size of the lens on the accessory turn signals may be too small, and therefore would not meet the requirements of the standard. This could reduce vehicle conspicuity to following and approaching road users, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the accessory turn signals with factory indicators that meet the requirements of the standard.

  On certain motorcycles, the threaded holes on the rear wheel flange could crack if the wheel bolts are tightened beyond the specified torque limit during servicing. Over time, this could allow the bolts to back out of their threaded holes, causing the rear wheel to become loose. This could result in a loss of stability of the motorcycle, and increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or property damage. Correction: dealers will replace the aluminum rear wheel flange with a steel flange.

  On certain motorcycles, cracks could develop in the fuel pump and/or auxiliary fuel pump flange (if equipped). This would result in fuel leaking when the engine is turned on and the fuel system is pressurized. Leaking fuel, in the presence of an ignition source, could lead to a fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will inspect the fuel pump flange(s) and install a reinforcing ring or replace the fuel pump(s), as necessary.

  On certain motorcycles, due to build tolerances and the length of front threaded fastener used on the paralever link, there is a possibility that the fastener may come loose due to insufficient torque and over time separate from its housing. This situation could compromise the handling of the motorcycle which could result in a crash causing property damages, personal injuries or death. Correction: dealers will replace the existing fastener with an improved version.

  Certain motorcycles fail to comply with the requirements of cmvss 108 - lamps, reflective devices and associated equipment. The front turn signals were installed in an improper location. As a result, the rider's intentions to turn may not be conveyed clearly to other road users, increasing the risk of a crash causing injury or death. Correction: dealers will replace the turn signal base.

• Fuel leak - motorycle investigation # EA13006
