Bmw K 1300 Gt 2010

• Recall 142633 [USA]: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source can increase the risk of a fire.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain 2009-2011 k1300 (s, gt), 2010-2011 s1000 rr, 2005-2011 r1200 (gs, gs adventure, r, rt, s, st), 2006-2010 hp2 (enduro, megamoto, sport), 2005-2008 k1200 (r, r sport, s, gt), and 2012 k1600 (gt, gtl) motorcycles that were repaired under recall 13v-617 with the support ring remedy and where the fuel pump was not replaced at a later date. This recall involves the fuel pump, and also the auxiliary fuel pump as applicable. The affected motorcycles have a fuel pump flange that may crack, possibly resulting in a fuel leak while the engine is running.
  bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace the fuel pump(s) with an improved version, free of charge. The recall began january 18, 2021. Owners may contact bmw customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

• Recall 114910 [USA]: If the rear wheel mounting flange cracks, the mounting bolts may loosen and the rear wheel may not remain secured to the motorcycle, causing a loss of stability and increasing the risk of a crash.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2005-2010 r1200gs and r1200rt, 2006-2010 r1200gs adventure, 2007-2010 r1200r, 2007 r1200s and k1200r sport, 2005-2007 r1200st, 2008-2009 hp2 megamoto, 2006 hp2 enduro, 2008-2010 hp2 sport, 2005-2008 k1200s, 2006-2008 k1200r, k1200gt, 2009-2011 k1300s, 2010-2011 k1300r, and 2009-2010 k1300gt motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the rear wheel mounting flange may crack if the rear wheel mounting bolts are over tightened.
  bmw will notify owners, and dealers will replace the existing aluminum rear wheel flange with a steel one, free of charge. The recall began on may 7, 2015. Owners may contact bmw customer service at 1-800-525-7417.

• Recall 101432 [USA]: A fuel leak in the presence of an ignition source may result in a fire.
  Bmw of north america, llc (bmw) is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 model year r-model motorcycles, model year 2005-2012 k-model motorcycles, model year 2010-2011 s 1000 model motorcycles, and model year 2006-2010 hp2 motorcycles. In the affected motorcycles, the fuel pump flange (and the auxiliary fuel pump flange if equipped) could develop cracks and leak fuel.

  Bmw is recalling certain model year 2005-2011 motorcycles. The bearings could be subject to corrosion. This could lead to reduced movement of the link lever.

• Recall 66841 [USA]: Engine stalling could result in a vehicle crash.
  Bmw is recalling certain model year 2009 and 2010 k1300 s and k1300 gt motorcycles manufactured between september 11, 2008 and november 19, 2009. Poor fuel quality may lead to small deposits within the throttle bodies. During engine operation in a low rpm range, typically near idle speed (when coming to a stop) air flow could be sufficiently restricted and engine stalling could occur.

• Fuel leak - motorycle investigation # EA13006

The vehicle stalls when decelerating to low speed or to a stop. It has happened multiple times and most often when the vehicle is hot after lengthy driving in weather in excess of 90 degrees f. This is a widely recognized problem for this model and year and there has been a recall issued. My vehicle has no open recalls, so i assume it has been recalled for this problem (i am second owner). Bike has 24000 miles and the problem persists despite presumed recall remedy. This happened to me on interstate, middle lane when traffic slowed...Very dangerous.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 bmw k1300 gt. While riding approximately 30 mph, the odor of fuel was present. The contact discovered fuel had leaked from the fuel pump where the boss threaded into the flange. The contact indicated that the motorcycle was previously serviced per the manufacturer's campaign number: 038538 for the same failure in 2014. During the repairs, a reinforcement ring was installed to prevent the same failure from occurring. The manufacturer and local dealer were not notified. The failure mileage was 28,815.

Tl* the contact owns a 2010 bmw k1300 gt motorcycle. While driving approximately 50 mph, the contact noticed that his pants were wet from fuel that was leaking from a plastic connector line. The contact also stated that the engine started to misfire. The contact coasted the vehicle to the side of the road. In addition, the contact stated that the fuel was blowing onto the engine that could have resulted in him sustaining burn injuries. Medical attention was not received. The failure occurred on three different occasions. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer stated that they would file a report and provide an evaluation. The approximate failure mileage was 19,000. *tt *tr *js

When accelerating around 4500 to 5500 rpm, the engine bogs and the motorcycle loses speed. Other times, and at cruising speeds, when turning the throttle to accelerate at lower speeds, the bike does not accelerate immediately and takes a couple of seconds before it accelerates. When pulling in the clutch to change gears, the engine stalls. This can happen in the middle of a turn or driving down a straight road. This happens randomly. *tr

Center stand bent while trying to stand up my bike on it. I rarely used it, never abused it. Poor engineering suggested by an authorized motorcycle mechanic! *tr

Left hand-side multiswitch failure. Left without horn, turn signals, windshield adjustment etc. Operating any bike without an operational multiswitch to control the functions enumerated above is very dangerous and illegal. Safety check will expire soon and can't pass it without an operating multiswitch. Replacing it by bmw costs over $700. It seems that bmw has a long history with faulty multiswitches, both left and right hand side. Bmw should be determined to offer a recall on their multiswitches immediately! *tr

Left handle bar multifunction switch is malfunctioning again. This is the second switch on this bike. The right turn signal will not operate and the windshield will not retract. This is an ongoing problem with these bikes. When you expect the turn signal to be operating and it doesn't it can cause an accident. Also when you want the windshield to retract when it is rain streaked and your visibility is blocked, it can also cause an accident. *tr

No response from the left and right turn signals, horn, electrical windshield, cruise control. An internationally known issue on this bmw bike. Surprised there is no recall issued yet! Bmw dealer charges over $600.00 to replace the left hand multi switch part # 61318546213. *tr
