Front brake hydraulic line may contact and rub against fuel tank or speedometer cable resulting in scuffing and subsequent wearing on brake lines outer surface which could cause a hydraulic fluid leak. Consequence of defect: hydraulic fluid leak due to the damaged lines impairs brake performance. a spiral hose to protect the brake line from contact will be installed, as well as a hose clamp and support, so brake line will not change. system: brake lines.Vehicle description: large motorcycles.
Recall 1991113 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain motorcycles, the front brake hydraulic line may rub against the fuel tank or speedometer cable. This may result in wearing of the brake line with the possibility of a brake fluid leak. This would impair the performance of the front brake. Correction: the brake line will be inspected and replaced if necessary. In addition, a protective sleeve and an additional clamp will be installed.
Recall 1989026 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain motorcycles, the contacting surfaces which activate the front and rear brake light switches may become misaligned. Misalignment of either of these surfaces could cause that brake light switch to fail prematurely. If this should occur, the brake light would not function for that particular brake. This could, depending on operating conditions, result in a crash with another vehicle or vehicles. Correction: front and brake lever will be modified, a cap will be placed on the rear brake stop bolt and the front and rear brake light switches will be replaced with a newer switch if the vehicle is not already so equipped.
