• Recall 2000080 [Canada]: Accessories
  On certain vehicles operated in areas of high salt use, the spare tire hoist cable may corrode and eventually break. This would allow the spare tire to fall off the vehicle possibly resulting in a road hazard for other vehicles. Correction: a letter will be sent to owners of affected vehicles with maintenance and inspection instructions for spare tire hoist cable assemblies. Additionally, the letter will advise the owner that, if the cable breaks during that inspection, their dealer will repair the assembly. This policy will be in effect until december 31, 2002.

  On certain vehicles, the transmission fluid may be forced out of the vent tube due to heat generation in the transmission caused by trailering heavy loads at high speeds or high-load/off road use. If the vented transmission fluid comes in contact with the catalytic converter, the fluid could ignite resulting in a vehicle fire. Correction: dealers will install a longer transmission vent hose routed to the left side of the vehicle.

  Certain C1500, C3500, k1500 and k3500 vehicles may have below specified torque on the optional trailer hitch attaching fasteners. This could allow the trailer hitch to move under towing loads and eventually lead to failure of the fasteners. If this occurs while a trailer is being pulled, the hitch and trailer could separate and a crash could occur without prior warning. Correction: trailer hitch will be inspected for evidence of hitch movement and if movement has occurred, the fasteners will be replaced and correctly torqued. If no movement has occurred, the attaching fasteners will be tightened to the specified torque.

I first notest paint chips on the gas cap, then i experenced paint peeling as i washed off bird dropings on the hood area and cab. I now have heavy peeling on the right front finder and the top of the cab.

Engine oil sensor failed, resulting in engine failure.
