  On certain vehicles, the sliding side-door rear latch might have been replaced in service with a latch that was improperly riveted. In the event of a vehicle crash, the door may not perform as required and increased injuries could occur. Correction: dealers will replace the sliding door rear latch.

• Recall 1996100 [Canada]: Suspension
  Certain vehicles may have a bead damage to the tires which occurred during tire mounting. The damage to the tire reinforcing structure in the bead "toe" area would likely manifest itself as a bulge in the sidewall after the tire is inflated. This damage could result in rapid air loss, which could cause injuries to anyone if they were handling the tire when this occurred. Correction: tires will be demounted and inspected for bead damage. If bead damage is present, the tire will be replaced.

• Recall 1996145 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain vehicles, when stationary, water may leak into the kick panel areas and can then enter electrical components located in that area. Subsequent corrosion can result in a high resistance short circuit that can heat up to the point of igniting the plastic in the electrical components or heat up other paths to ground which can lead to ignition of the kick pad trim panels, instrument panel, etc. Correction: replace the 25 amp circuit breakers with 25 amp fuses in the fuse block; remove a temporary paper fuse box cover; install a plastic shield over the fuse block; reorient the power door lock relay; replace remote keyless entry module if corroded and reorient it and apply additional body sealer in key areas.

Dt: the contact stated the upper hinge on the rear passenger side door broke. When the door was opened to place items into the van the hinge broke off. The arm set came apart from the bracket. Before consumer replaced the hinge of the door it would open and close with support. The vehicle is equipped with power door locks. The body shop stated this was a very common problem among this van, and the part to repair the door was on back order. The vehicle was taken to the service dealer to determine an estimate because it was not under warranty. The door has not been repaired yet. Consumer contacted the manufacturer, and they stated it was not a recognized defect within the vehicle.*ak

Consumer states that driver's seat broke, causing consumer to be in the rear seats. Dealer notified.*ak

While driving 35mph started depressing brake pedal. Pedal went to floor. Vehicle failed to stop. Rearended another vehicle. Entire front brakes replaced prior to accident. Upon impact, air bags failed to deploy. *ak

Seat belt guide mounted too high, preventing belt from retracting properly.

Vehicle was in crash, resulting from lack of braking ability. When the brakes were applied, the pedal went to the floor and the vehicle did not stop. Dealer put new brake drums in. Problem still exists. *ak
