• Recall 1999116 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Certain extended cab pickup trucks equipped with high-back bucket seats may have the seat recliner to seat frame attaching bolts loosen, fatigue and fracture, allowing the seat back to suddenly recline. If this were to occur on the driver's seat while the vehicle was in motion, it could lead to sudden loss of vehicle control and a crash without prior warning. Correction: dealers will remove all foam and/or fabric sandwiched between the recliner assembly and the seat frame, install washers between the seat recliner and the seat frame at each attachment point, and install new attaching bolts torqued to a higher specification.

• Recall 1993034 [Canada]: Powertrain
  On certain vehicles, the transmission fluid may be forced out of the vent tube due to heat generation in the transmission caused by trailering heavy loads at high speeds or high-load/off road use. If the vented transmission fluid comes in contact with the catalytic converter, the fluid could ignite resulting in a vehicle fire. Correction: dealers will install a longer transmission vent hose routed to the left side of the vehicle.

• Recall 1993120 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain k1500, astro, safari and suburban vehicles, corrosion of the composite front brake rotors could cause separation of the stamped steel centre section from the cast outer rotor resulting in complete loss of braking capability for the affected wheel and a partial loss of front braking. This would increase stopping distances and could result in a crash without prior warning. Correction: dealers will replace both front brake rotors with rotors having a corrosion protective coating.
