  Certain vehicles (not involved in recall 98-150), may experience a windshield wiper failure due to cracked solder joints on the controller circuit board. If this were to occur in a severe weather situation, driver's visibility could be reduced, which could result in a vehicle crash without prior warning. Correction: dealer will replace defective wiper motor until 7 years or 112 000 km from date vehicle was originally placed into service or for those vehicles currently outside of this coverage, until march 31 2004.

• Recall 1995223 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  Note: extended cab vehicles with seat belt assemblies with a double loop energy management system. A condition exists where in a frontal collision, if both the lap belt and shoulder belt energy management system loops release at/or near the same time, acceleration forces can cause the the buckle release mechanism to activate and allow the buckle to separate from the latch. Correction: on trucks with gas engines or 6.5 litre h.O. Turbo diesel engines, dealers will remove the stitching that creates the energy management loop in the shoulder belt(s). On trucks with lighter duty engines, the retractor portion of the seat belt assembly/assemblies will be replaced with one having a newly designed energy management twin loop system

Frame rust. All parts connected to frame. Parts holding tanks etc. Excessive rust. Bands cables lines. Excessive rusting

The 16 inch spare tire wheel fell out from underneath the truck while driving. After taking truck to replace spare the spare tire hoist cable had broke. The cross brackets were rusted and beyond repair. The end of truck frame itself is rusted away. I see many issues coming because of excessive rust.

While driving had to make a normal stop for a bus when brake pedal goes to floor. Had to avoid cars by going to side off road. After looking at truck it was determined the brake lines had rusted into. Replaced brake lines.

Tl* the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet silverado 1500 . The contact stated that the steering wheel frame was rusted, which disturbed the vehicle handling on the road. The manufacturer and dealer were contacted but were unable to repair the failure. The failure mileage was 208,000 and the current mileage was 208,645.

Brake lines broke while driving and exhaust system replaced due to excessive rust. The whole under body frame, drive train has excessive rusting. The inside of the taillight brackets have also rusted and the lights fell out while driving. Only 98000 miles, well maintain and been kept garage while not in use. I read there are investigations on later models and because of the excessive rust am concerned about the stability of the frames structure and other lines breaking which could cause safety issues. *jb

Tl*the contact owns a 1995 chevrolet silverado 1500. While driving 45 mph, the contact crashed into another vehicle. The air bags failed to deploy and he felt that this was a safety issue. The current and failure mileages were 124,000. Updated 03/09/09. *lj no police report was given. The consumer stated in california when there are no injuries and both parties agree to what no police report is taken. The other driver was sited. In ur z71 offroads chevrolet truck with the 6.7 engine{400 detroit diesel with turbo} the inner fuel pump goes out frequently i have replaced it already once and the dang thing is going out again and i don't have the money to replace it again it cost me $1,367.00 the last time. I love my truck and i think it would be a smart move to check out why the inner fuel pumps keep going out. Please check this out and let me know something. Dt*: the contact stated while driving in the rain the windshield wipers work intermittently and the windshield wiper motor made a grinding noise. Although the dealership was contacted, no repairs were made. The windshield wiper mot failed and had to be replaced. *ak

Dt: contact s had an automobile accident three months ago. While driving at 45 mph a dog ran across contact's vehicle and it hit a tree. Most of the damage was done right in the middle of the car. The upon impact, driver's side air bag did not deploy. Did not think the passenger's side has an air bag because of the year of the car. He was the only one in the car at the time. The contact sustained an injury. He cut his tongue. He has not talked to a dealer or the manufacturer. *ak
