  Curt mfg is recalling certain class 3 receiver hitches, p/n 13347, sold as aftermarket equipment for use on 1997-2007 chrysler town and country vans, 1996-2007 dodge caravans, and 1996-2004 plymouth voyager vans. When the hitch is loaded to the maximum rating, the hitch may fracture or break at the bend location where the main body of the hitch meets the hitch muffler strap.

• Recall 73740 [USA]: If the front crash sensors become inoperative, the driver is immediately alerted by illumination of the airbag warning light and the vehicle should be promptly serviced. until the vehicle is repaired, the airbags may not provide the enhanced protection in the event of a crash.
  Chrysler is recalling certain model year 2005-2006 dodge caravan, grand caravan and chrysler town & country vehicles originally sold in or currently registered in the states of connecticut, delaware, iowa, illinois, indiana, kansas, kentucky, massachusetts, maine, maryland, michigan, minnesota, missouri, nebraska, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, north dakota, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, south dakota, tennessee, utah, vermont, virginia, west virginia, wisconsin, alaska and the district of columbia. The front crash sensors may crack under certain environmental conditions and allow water to enter into the sensor. This can cause the sensor to become inoperative and illuminate the airbag warning light. These sensors were added to enhance the performance of the airbag system in certain frontal crashes.
  chrysler will replace the front airbag sensors with a new design. This service will be performed free of charge. The safety improvement campaign will begin during june 2010. Owners may contact chrysler at 1-800-853-1403.

  Issue: this recall is for aftermarket replacement rear window glass produced by vitro automotriz. Certain rear window glass may not have been properly tempered. If the window breaks, the glass may separate into large pieces instead of very small ones. Note: this is a voluntary recall that is not being conducted under the requirements of the motor vehicle safety act. Safety risk: glass that breaks in to large pieces could create a risk of injury. Corrective actions: the company will notify consumers by mail and instruct them to inspect the designation code marked on the rear window glass. Products affected by this recall have the designation “dot 287” along with the lettering “vmr” (replacement market) and a date code that is before july 2019. • Engine stall after refueling investigation # DP14002

  This defect petition evaluates july 7, 2014 allegations from an owner of a model year (my) 2007 dodge grand caravan minivan that engine stall occurs in these vehicles without warning after refueling.The petitioners vehicle is a chrysler rs platform minivan.The rs platform includes my 2003 through 2007 dodge grand caravan, dodge caravan, chrysler town and country and chrysler voyager minivans.Nhtsa evaluated the petition by analyzing consumer complaints submitted to the agency, analyzing field data, reviewing technical information provided in chryslers response to an agency information request and testing an rs minivan identified by its owner as experiencing post-refuel engine stalls.After completing this evaluation, nhtsa has concluded that further investigation is unlikely to result in a finding that a defect related to motor vehicle safety exists.The stalls occurring in these vehicles only occur immediately after filling up the fuel tank and happen at low engine speeds. The failure rate is low, even after 8 to 13 years of the vehicles being in service, and there are no reports of crashes or injuries resulting from the stall condition.In the agencys view, additional investigation is unlikely to result in finding the existence of a safety-related defect in the subject vehicles.Given the need to allocate and prioritize nhtsas limited resources to best accomplish the agencys safety mission, the petition is denied.This action does not constitute a finding by nhtsa that a safety-related defect does not exist. • Fleet vehicle recall completion audit investigation # AQ10001

  On november 18, 2010, nhtsas recall management division (rmd) opened an audit query (aq10-001) to investigate recall remedy completion by rental car companies on safety recall campaigns.It was expected to provide the agency an indication of how completely and how quickly rental car fleets perform necessary recall-related remedies on the vehicles owned and then rented/leased for use on the roadways.Rmd queried three (3) major motor vehicle manufacturers (ford, chrysler, and general motors) and requested data regarding completion figures for fifteen (15) discreet safety recalls.Analysis of this data demonstrated that rental car recalls completion was neither complete nor consistent.The rental car companies representing the largest market share in the industry were then queried as to their respective policies for the rental, lease, and sale of vehicles with open recalls.The data and responses from the manufacturers and the rental car companies can be found in the document repository by accessing the ?Associated documents link above.In december 2015, congress enacted the fixing americas surface transportation (fast) act.One section of the act prohibits rental car companies from renting, leasing, or selling motor vehicles subject to open safety recalls.With the passage of the fast act and its prohibition, there is no continuing need for the agency to investigate rental car recall completions.Accordingly, this investigation is closed.The agency reserves the right to open any future investigations, including audits of individual recalls, or groups of recalls, or rental car companies, to examine more closely safety recalls performance and completion issues in this area.

When gas tank is full leaks from the top of tank by fuel pump. Faulty pump cracked at seam and leaks.

Driving down a crowded interstate and the dash cluster started going crazy then stopped working. Mechanic said it was a kniwn wiring issue with the cluster and anti theft device.

Passenger side air bag exploded. Luckily no injury. Vehicle was not moving. I didn't even know it could do that! I'd like this fixed. Also, two leaks in engine. Oil leak/transmission leak. Is this normal? Leaks are ongoing. Another thing: noticing headlights getting slightly dimmer, then brighter, at night as if some sort of electrical problem? This happens during driving and not driving.

Tl* the contact owns a 2006 dodge caravan. While driving, the vehicle experienced an electrical failure. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the fuse box malfunctioned and caused the vehicle's computer to fail. Patterson chrysler dodge jeep ram tyler (3120 s sw loop 323, tyler, tx 75701, (903) 561-2404) was contacted and confirmed the diagnosis. The manufacturer was contacted and stated that there were no recalls. The contact was referred to nhtsa and was informed to tow the vehicle to the dealer. The failure mileage was 126,000. *bf*jb

The sliding doors open as your traveling down the road.

The sliding door latch malfunction where door comes open while driving the auto lock also malfunctioning. I'm a master mechanic and this isn't the first time i heard of this problem on these vehicles. Mopar needs to have these vehicles recalled before someone gets hurt or their pet falls out.
