• Recall 257560 [USA]: A sudden loss of power steering fluid can result in a loss of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2021-2022 e-350 and e-450 vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels. An inadequate connection between the power steering pressure line and the brake hydroboost unit may result in a sudden loss of power steering fluid.
  dealers will replace the power steering pressure line and the hydroboost jumper line, free of charge. Vehicles in this recall were previously recalled under 22v-089 and owners will need to have the new remedy completed even if their vehicle was remedied under the prior recall. Interim owner notification letters explaining the safety risk were mailed march 22, 2024. A second notice will be sent once remedy parts become available, anticipated 2nd quarter 2024. • Recall 156686 [USA]: Direct and continuous contact with certain areas of engine cover surface in the passenger compartment may increase the risk of injury or burns to the skin of the driver or front seat passenger.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2021 e-350 and e-450 vehicles. The underside of the engine cover may have mispositioned insulation, allowing the cover to get excessively hot.
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the engine cover for gaps between the rubber seal and the insulation. If gaps are present, the dealer will install engine cover insulation patches in the right hand and left hand inner lower corners of the engine cover. The dealer will also update the powertrain calibration for heat management under elevated idle conditions should a vehicle be equipped with seic or bcp, free of charge. • Recall 145150 [USA]: Damage to the fuel pump circuit in the wiring harness could result in an unexpected engine stall. damage to the abs wiring can lead to reduction of abs functionality and a loss of roll stability control (rsc) functionality. these scenarios increase the risk of a crash.
  Ford motor company (ford) is recalling certain 2021 e-350 and e-450 vehicles. A wire harness in the rear of the vehicle may contact the vehicle frame, resulting in damage to the circuits that support the fuel pump and the anti-lock braking system (abs).
  ford will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the wire harness for damage. If no damage is found, dealers will apply anti-abrasion tape over the area and ensure clearance to surrounding components. If damage is found, dealers will splice in new wire and apply anti-abrasion tape over the area and ensure clearance to surrounding components. All services will be performed free of charge. • Recall 2022073 [Canada]: Steering
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the power steering pressure line may not be properly connected to the brake booster. As a result, power steering fluid could leak and cause a loss of power steering and power brake assist. Note: this recall only affects certain e-series incomplete vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels. Safety risk: a loss of power brakes can cause a potentially sudden increase in brake pedal force and lead to an increase in stopping distance. A loss of power steering assist can cause a sudden increase in steering effort, especially at low speeds. Both could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the connection between the power steering pressure line and the hydroboost unit. The power steering line will be replaced if the connection is not secure.

• Recall 2020633 [Canada]: Engine
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the insulation for the engine cover may not be positioned correctly. As a result, some surfaces inside the vehicle could get hot while the engine is running. Safety risk: if a person touches a hot surface, there could be a risk of a burn injury. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to inspect the engine cover for gaps between the rubber seal and the insulation. If gaps are found, the dealer will install engine cover insulation patches, as necessary. The dealer will also update the powertrain software on vehicles equipped with stationary elevated idle control (seic) or battery charge protect (bcp).

• Recall 2020126 [Canada]: Electrical
  Issue: on certain vehicles, a wire harness in the rear of the vehicle could be damaged by contact with the vehicle frame. If this happens, the engine could stall and you may not be able to restart it. This can also cause the antilock brake system (abs) not to work properly and the roll stability control (rsc) to turn off. Note: this problem may cause the check engine light and/or abs and traction control warning lights to turn on. Safety risk: a sudden loss of engine power could create the risk of a crash. Additionally, a loss of abs and/or rsc could also increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a ford or lincoln dealer to inspect the wire harness for damage. The dealer will apply protective tape over the area and ensure the harness is not touching nearby parts. Any damaged wires will be replaced.

• Recall 2020070 [Canada]: Powertrain
  Issue: on certain vehicles, the rear axle was not properly filled with oil. As a result, the tail bearings could seize and the pinion stem could break. If this happens, the driveshaft could separate from the rear axle and cause a loss of power to the wheels. This could also cause the vehicle to move when the transmission is in park, if the parking brake is not used. Safety risk: a loss of power to the wheels could increase the risk of a crash. Additionally, unintended vehicle movement could increase the risk of injury and/or a crash. Corrective actions: ford will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a ford or lincoln dealer to have the rear axle checked. Axles found with lubricant at or above the “minimum” level will be filled to the “full” level. Axles that are filled below the minimum oil level will be replaced.

• Loss of power brake/steering assist post 22v-089 inspection. investigation # RQ24003

  On february 16, 2022, ford motor company (ford) issued a safety recall (nhtsa recall 22v-089) for 2021-2022 ford e-350 and e-450 vehicles equipped with dual rear wheels. The remedy involved inspecting the connection between the power steering pressure line and the hydraulic brake booster unit to prevent a sudden loss of power steering fluid, updating parts as necessary.  this leak could result in a lack of power steering and power brake assist, increasing the risk of a crash. From july 2023 through december 2023, the office of defects investigation (odi)  has received eleven consumer complaints alleging power steering line detachments after the vehicles had passed their inspection. The vehicles in the complaints include ambulances and a wheelchair lift-equipped school bus. In a meeting with ford about the post-remedy failures on january 26, 2024, ford informed odi that they would file a new recall to update the power steering pressure line components on any vehicle that had not yet been inspected and also any vehicle which had passed inspection within the last twelve months. However, vehicles which had passed inspection more than twelve months ago would not be included within the scope of the new filing. Odi is opening this recall query (rq) to evaluate the scope and remedy effectiveness of fords new recall (nhtsa recall 24v-097). The service advance trac light comes on sporadically. This also triggers the cruise control and hill start assist to turn off. Any of these malfunctions could prove to be a safety issue particularly with regard to stability and control of the vehicle. The vehicle has not yet been to a dealer for these issues as we are traveling. The malfunction has occurred about 5-6 times while driving, without any particular triggers.There were no early warnings and the first time the service light came on was june 18th and we were on a two lane flat road doing about 50 mph. The advance trac (and cruise/hill start) remains non-functional until vehicle is turned off for at least 10 minutes. It then often resets and performs normally until the next failure - which does not seem to be predictable.

Service advance trac keeps faulting and disabling the cruise control, abs braking, hill holder, and skid control functions, seems to occur at highway speeds with crosswind

Service advancement warning came on the main gauge display screen while i was driving 62 mph with cruise control set. Vehicle is a 2021 jayco greyhawk 31f class c motorhome on ford e450 chassis with 7.3l gas v-8 and 6-speed automatic transmission. Cruise control stopped working and would not come back on. Hill start assist disabled message came on after i hit "ok" for the service advancement warning. Vehicle became very difficult to control with moderate crosswind. It would sway side to side and moved all over in the lane as i steered and countersteered. Vehicle power also seemed to decrease as it would only go about 52 mph in 5th gear and would downshift to 4th in order to go from 45 up to about 55. It was terrifying to go that fast when a gust of wind hit. We pulled into a truck stop, turned off motor and let it sit a couple minutes. It restarted easily but even stationary in park and in drive (stopped) the service advancement warning came back on and the cruise control would not power on. Shut motor off and disconnected negative battery cable for about 20 minutes, hooked battery up and vehicle started with no warning lights. Drove another 20ish miles with no issues, then turned on cruise control and set it at 55. After 2 minutes the c/c shut off again, service activator warning came on, vehicle hard to control with crosswind and decreased engine power. Pulled to shoulder, tried to restart and same issue as at truck stop. Disconnected battery again 20 minutes, hooked back up and drove with no issues for 6 hrs (and 1 fuel stop) with c/c remaining off. Next day issue repeated itself: c/c turned off after about 2 minutes, service advancement light etc. Disconnect battery 20 min, restart and drove without turning on c/c for 7 hrs (w/ 2 stops) no issues. Full power and advancement electronic stability control work fine when service advancement warning is not on.*dt*jb*dt*dt*dt*jb*jb*jb
