• Recall 14672 [USA]: Belt failures can result in the loss of power steering assist and the loss of brake assist once the vacuum reservoir is depleted. also fead belt failure poses a risk of engine compartment fire in vehicles equipped with automatic transmissions if it results in the transmission oil cooler hose rupture.
  This is not a safety recall in accordance with federal regulation 573. However, it is deemed a safety improvement campaign by the agency. The front end accessory drive (fead) serpentine drive belt can detach from the engine pulleys during certain engine operations. The diesel engine can cause the belts to stretch in excess of the tensioner capacity and the belt detaches from the pulleys.
  dealers will install a new tensioner, drive belt, belt guide and an improved idler pulley.
  note:ford has decided to conduct a safety improvement service campaign to replace the fead serpentine belt without charge.Owners can contact ford at 1-800-285-4545.

  On certain b600, f600 and p800 vehicles, engine resonance can cause elevated stress conditions and a fatigue failure of the accelerator return springs. A failed return spring could result in the engine not fully returning to idle when the accelerator pedal is released. Correction: accelerator return springs will be replaced with a torsion spring design.

  On certain b600 and f600 vehicles, a tolerance stack-up condition on the accelerator lever and the automatic transmission modulator lever may result in interference between the two levers which could prevent the engine from fully returning to idle. Correction: affected vehicles will have a revised modulator lever installed.

• Recall 1995186 [Canada]: Engine
  On certain b700, f700, f800, ft900, l8000, la8000, ln7000, ln8000, lnt8000, ls8000, lt8000 and lts8000, the hand throttle cable may wear the brass swivel block on the governor lever through which it passes. In some cases the wear may result in the cable jamming in the damaged swivel, which could prevent the governor lever from returning to the idle position. Correction: a revised governor lever with a stainless steel swivel will be installed on affected vehicles.

  The u-clips used in attaching the front bumper inner arm to the bumper face bar may fracture. If not replaced, the front bumper may loosen and separate which could cause the vehicle to drive over the bumper resulting in possible loss of driver control. Correction: vehicles will be inspected and front bumper inner arm u-clips will be replaced if necessary.

• Recall 1994157 [Canada]: Brakes
  Note: this recall affects vehicles with manual transmission. The parking brake control self-adjust pawl may skip over one or more teeth in the self-adjust ratchet during parking brake application, which could prevent the system from achieving full tension. This could result in parking brake ineffectiveness which would allow the vehicle to roll freely if it is not left in gear. Correction: a wedge will be installed which will serve to lock the parking brake self-adjust mechanism pawl into engagement with the ratchet.

• Recall 1993102 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  Vehicles with gasoline engines and dual fuel tanks may experience the transfer of fuel from one tank to the other through a malfunctioning check valve within the fuel pump assembly. This could cause the capacity of the other tank to be exceeded, resulting in fuel overflow past the filler cap. In the presence of an ignition source, a fire could result. Correction: fuel pressure regulator will be replaced and redundant check valves will be installed on affected vehicles.

  Note: includes trucks, truck chassis and bus chassis. Medium and heavy duty vehicles equipped with cummins 5.9 litre and 8.3 litre diesel engines with in-line fuel injection pumps may have the potential for fracture of the throttle return springs. If both springs were to fracture the throttle would not return to the idle position and may result in increased engine speed and the possibility of loss of vehicle control. Correction: throttle return control system will be replaced with the coil torsion spring design.

  Note: incomplete chassis-cabs. One or more of the six clamps that hold the tire and rim assembly to the cast spokes of the front wheel may have been of an incorrect size. Installation of the clamps may result in bending of the studs which are used to attach the clamps to the spokes. This would increase the risk of stud fracture and possible wheel failure. Correction. Studs and clamps will be replaced on affected vehicles.

On saturday april 18, 2015, my vehicle had been towed due to it catching on fire while being parked. *tr

I received a recall notice for cruise control on my 1993 f150 in september and followed instructions for correction to take to a local dealer. At the dealer the cruise control was disconnect to remove fords liability for possible fire and i was told that the fused harness would be available and installed in december. I called my local dealer today and was told it will be around march before the harness is available. What are a consumer's rights to obtain a remedy in a reasonable amount of time? I don't consider over 6 months acceptable and not that ford has essentially removed their liability by disabling the item, they have no impetus to resolve the problem quickly. I received a recall notice concerning the fuel tank system. The problem with a bad part that keeps the fuel tanks from pumping from one tank to another. I took my vehicle to el cajon ford in el cajon california, the service manager said that if i had no problem he was not going to fix it. The vehicle had about 125,000 mile on it. I was then in the process of moving to oregon. At about 151,000 the vehicle started pumping fuel from the rear tank to the front tank. I took the vehicle to florence ford in florence oregon and they said it was out of warrenty. I called the ford manufacture and they said to bad. I tried to explain my situation and again they said to bad. I then said i would like to file a complaint and they said i have no reason to complain and hung up the phone. Had el cajon ford fixed the problem i would not have this problem now. I am glad for the recall notice had i not been notifed my truck proably would have caught on fire by now. As for my support for ford i am loosing faith. I have most recently bought a ford ranger i used it mostly to visit my dying father, driving from san diego to oregon, and then moving to oregon. My vehicle was just out of warrenty when i had to replace the radiator and then some miles later replace the water pump. I have lost my faith in ford. I being third generation ford comsumer have had nothing but problems. On the other hand my daughter has a 95 toyota, 200,000 on it and has had on real problem. Or a life threating problem. Steel fixed brake lines ruptured as a result of corrosion damage, causing partial brake failure. This is the second incident with this truck. The first time, the line running from the master cylinder to the fitting near the left front wheel failed at the fitting where it attached to the brake hose going to the left front wheel. I had an my neighbor who works as a general mechanic replace that line, and the line running to the other front wheel. Fortunately i was on a private road on my property driving less than 10 mph, and was able to stop the vehicle safely with the parking brake. A second incident happened october 18 while down in greenbelt, md which is about 50 miles from home. This time i was in a nearly empty parking lot when i noticed problems. I limped to a nearby gas station where i more closely inspected the brakes for the source of the problem. This time, the failure was near a fitting where the steel line attaches to a fitting where flexible hose which runs to the lines on the rear axle attaches to the fixed line in the body of the truck. Same failure different place. The gas station's service bays were closed, so i decided to have the vehicle towed to my neighbor's garage again, where we will replace the rest of the lines. The isssue isn't so much the cost of repairing the rusty brake lines, which should not be more than 100 dollars in parts and several hours of labor on the part of my neighbor and myself, but the potential that the failure could have resulted in a serious, if not deadly accident had the circumstances been slightly different. I realize this is an older vehicle now, but i have not heard of other vehicles of similar age having this type of problem. I probably should have done a more thorough inspection of the entire braking system after the first ruptured line, but nevertheless this is a problem that ford needs to bring to the attention of its owners before serious accidents do occur.

Some time ago, my ford f150 was sent a recall notice; the problem was that one fuel tank was sending fuel to the other. I was told it was ok. The event is still occuring with fuel spilling from the fill port. I would like to have the matter reevaluated. The dealer to whichi took the truck is bell ford.*ak

I have replaced the alternator 5 times since the warranty expired. When i bring this to ford's attention they just give me the answer that the do not know why my truck is blowing alternators, which also causes me to purchase a new battery every time the alternator goes. I know of other people who have the same year truck and also purchased the vehical new and they are having the same problem.
