• Front suspension coil spring fracture investigation # PE04044

  Odi possesses 130 vehicle owners questionnaires (voq) alleging front suspension coil spring failure in the subject (model year 1999-2000) vehicles.An additional 11 voqs concerning my 2001 vehicles have been found, bringing the total to 141.More than 75% of these reports allege that the broken spring damaged or punctured the adjacent tire.All of these reports originated in the salt belt states located in the northeast quadrant of the united states and canada.Ford will conduct a safety recall (04v-332) covering vehicles soldor currently registered in connecticut, delaware, illinois, indiana, iowa, kentucky, maine, maryland, massachusetts, michigan, minnesota, missouri, new hampshire, new jersey, new york, ohio, pennsylvania, rhode island, vermont, west virginia, wisconsin, and the district of columbia, to install spring shields in my 1999-2001 taurus/sable vehicles to prevent a fractured spring from damaging the nearby tire.Ford will additionally notify owners of all my 1999-2001 taurus/sable vehicles that warranty coverage for spring fractures has been extended to 10 years of age or 150,000 miles.Odi analyzed ford¿s warranty and complaint data and found that 99% of the spring fractures occurred in the states covered by the recall.The other incidents occurred in the states of florida, north carolina, texas, alabama, and georgia.In view of the coverage of the spring failures by the recall campaign, odi is closing the preliminary evaluation.Odi will continue to monitor the performance of the subject vehicles throughout the remainder of the country.

Gear shift cable broke and now the car won't go into park. I had to leave the car with the key in the ignition in low gear and doors unlocked.

I have had my transmission rebuilt , my speed sensor replaced 2times and now my speedometer isnt working i have irratic shifting sometimes it hoes into gear and sometimes it doesnt . I was making a turn onto a busy street and almost got hit by a truck because my car wouldn't go into gear.My odometer isnt working now so idk how many miles are actually on my car

I was driving down a city street. I went to slow down because there were cars in front of me. The car started accelerating and the brakes went out. I tried to avoid hitting a car in front of me. I hit the car and jumped the curb. I went into some bushes and the car continued to accelerate. I finally hit a tree and the car flipped over on the side. I had to be cut out of the vehicle

Car suddenly stops, losing power on brakes and steering. Has happened twice while driving on busy hwy. Could have caused accident.

The car has no brake lights and is driving very recklessly, jerking the wheel very hard.

Water is leaking from house along firewall. I barely can go anywhere and im at risk of losing my job. I'm having acceleration problemss. My car is not catching up and the speedometer went out. Keeps ticking and i got a full tune up. It smokes even when it's not running due to water spraying all over the engine. Everytine i stool i have to let the hood up so it can cool and i have to put water in it after every single delivery i make. Smokes really bad when i'm in park and stall out sometimes
