• Recall 128835 [USA]: A propane leak increases the risk of a fire.
  Forest river, inc. (forest river) is recalling certain 2017-2018 forest river cherokee recreational trailers, models cckt16bf, cckt16bhs, cckt16fq, cckt16gr, cckt16grh, cckt17rp and cckt18to. These vehicles are equipped with norcold n306 mini refrigerators that may have a loose or missing propane gas valve test port screw, allowing propane to leak out when the refrigerator is used in 'gas' mode.

• Recall 187969 [USA]: If the marker lights are in the wrong location or if the reflectors are missing, it can reduce the visibility of the vehicle to other drivers, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Forest river, inc. (forest river) is recalling certain 2018 cherokee recreational trailers. The amber side marker lights are not located as far to the front as feasible on the vehicle. Additionally, the vehicles may also be missing the intermediate side reflex reflectors located at, or near, the midpoint of the vehicle. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 108, "lamps, reflective devices, and associated equipment."

• Recall 129169 [USA]: If both wires were connected to same lug, the smaller wire may overheat and fail due to trying to handle a higher load, thereby increasing the risk of an electrical fire.

(forest river) is recalling certain 2003-2018 forest river berkshire, charleston, rockport, cedar creek, cherokee, riverstone, salem, sandpiper, sierra, vengeance, wildcat, wildwood, xlr boost, cargo mate, continental cargo, motorhomes, recreational trailers, toyhaulers, cargo trailers and restroom trailers and 2009-2018 coachmen mirada, pursuit, concord, leprechaun, freelander, orion and prism motorhomes, 2009-2017 coachmen apex and catalina recreational trailers, and 2013-2017 shasta oasis and revere recreational trailers, equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   Issue: the trailer hitch coupler installed on certain travel trailers may not be strong enough to support the weight of the trailer. As a result, the trailer could disconnect from the tow vehicle. Safety risk: a travel trailer that disconnects from the tow vehicle creates the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: forest river will notify owners by mail within 60 days of the recall date. The corrective actions for this recall are still being finalized.

• Recall 2019236 [Canada]: Label
  Issue: the compliance label on certain travel trailers lists incorrect information. The label incorrectly lists 5,100 lb. (2,313 kg) rated front and rear axles, st225/75r15/e tires, 15x6.0jj rims, and 80 psi, when it should list 6,000 lb. (2,721 kg) rated front and rear axles, st235/80r16/e tires, 16x6.0j rims, and 80 psi. This could lead to overloading of the trailer and cause poor handling or a tire failure. Safety risk: poor handling or a tire failure could cause a loss of control and result in a crash. Corrective actions: a new compliance label will be mailed to each owner. If an owner is not comfortable installing the label, a forest river dealer can install it.

  On certain vehicles, the valve fitting on low flow propane gas line to the refrigerator may have been adjusted improperly.   On certain motorhomes equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly.   On certain travel trailers, the gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr) does not match the stamped rating of the safety chains. Correction: forest river will mail a revised certification label with a reduced gross vehicle weight rating to match the stamped rating of the chain to current owners with instructions for proper placement. If owners are not comfortable installing the label themselves, they can take the label to a forest river dealer for installation.

  Certain travel trailers may fail to comply with the requirements of cmvss 108 - lighting system and retroreflective devices. The vehicles may have not been equipped with reflectors, contrary to requirements of the standard. This could decrease vehicle conspicuity and potentially increase the risk of a crash causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: vehicles will be fitted with the missing reflectors.

  On certain travel trailers, the generators exhaust pipe is mounted to close to the plastic underbelly. Overtime, this could cause the plastic underbelly to melt increasing the risk of fire causing injury and/or damage to property. Correction: dealers will lower the exhaust pipe away from the plastic underbelly.

Two tire trailers blew up going down the interstate from a camping trip. First tire blew apart after leaving the camp site around 15 mins down the road. 2nd tire blew when we were standing still replacing the other tire. This is a single axle trailer with two tires. 205-75-r14 castle rock with 65psi and less than 2,000 miles. Tires were on trailer for just over 2 years.

Glass panels attached to the cabinet doors will fall and break without warning. The camper was parked, level, and the air conditioning had been running for 2 days. The cabinet had been opened several times throughout the weekend. The glass panel was not loose but popped out unexpectedly when the cabinet door was opened and shattered on the floor spreading shards and pieces of glass throughout the camper. I had sent this topic to forest river personnel previously.

Had castle rock tire st225/75r15, this past weekend 7/17/20, while driving on i40, the first 5 mile the first tire exploded, 38 mile further down the road another tire exploded. Then when parked at the home the spare tire exploded and it was just laying in the bed of my truck. I have removed and replaced all for of the tire from my rv. I didn't keep the other two tire as proof.*dt*jb

The vin was invalid *dt*tp 1 tire fell apart and i'm unable to find the failure because of the lack of tire remaining. 1 tire had the tread pop, lost air, and exposed the steel belts. 1 tire had the internal belts break, the tire sat lopsided, but still held air long enough for me to get safely off the road. The tire that fell apart caused damage to the underside of the trailer and ripped the trailer brake cables off. Rv began smoking from the exterior of the hvac unit. Per video recording fire fell from the ceiling igniting the mattress. The entire rv filled with smoke within minutes, and the entire top of rv was fully engulfed in flames. It burnt the entire rv, home and cars beside. It was purchased brand new june 2018. Fire occurred july 1, 2019. Forest river was notified july 2019. We were fortunate not to be in the rv when the fire occurred.. Had we been we would have not survived. The heat index was 98 degrees that day. The rv had a front and rear ac. Smoke exited the front master bedroom ac first, prior to windows and doors. Please prevent this from happening to others, and save their lives.*dt*dt*jb*jb
