Contact may occur between the fan blades and the lower area of the fan shroud due to inadequate fore and aft clearance. This may result in fan blades and or fan shroud fracturing. Fractured fan blades could fly off and cause injury to persons in the vicinity of the engine while the vehicle is being serviced with the engine exposed and running. Correction: vehicles will require one of the following repairs: remove and replace the fan shroud; remove and replace the fan spacer with a smaller spacer; remove and omit the fan spacer.
