Honda Vt750 2011

• Recall 117433 [USA]: Without the bank angle sensor signal, the engine may stall while riding, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Honda (american honda motor co.) is recalling certain model year 2012-2014 vt750ca, vt750c2 and vt750c2f, 2011-2016 vt750c, 2013-2016 vt750cs, 2010-2016 vt750c2b and 2013-2014 vt750c2s motorcycles. Engine vibration may cause the bank angle sensor wire to rub on the wire harness joint connector, resulting in a loss of the sensor signal.
  honda will notify owners, and dealers will relocate the joint connector and replace the bank angle sensor, free of charge. The recall began on january 25, 2016. Owners may contact honda motorcycle customer service at 1-866-784-1870. Honda's number for this recall is jw7.

• Recall 68613 [USA]: An engine stall, while the motorcycle is being operated, may increase the risk of a crash.
  Honda is recalling certain model year 2010 and 2011 vt750 motorcycles produced from june 25, 2009, to march 28, 2011. The bank angle sensor may be incorrectly manufactured creating the possibility of an erroneous reading which could cause the engine to stall.
  honda will replace the affected bank angle sensors. The safety recall began on june 27, 2011. Owners may contact honda motorcycle customer service at 1-866-784-1870.

• Southern honda powersports investigation # AQ12001

  Nhtsa opened audit query (aq) 12-001 to determine whether southern honda powersports (southern honda) of chattanooga, tennessee, had complied with the requirements of the national traffic and motor vehicle safety act, as amended, 49 u.S.C. Chapter 301 (safety act) and its implementing regulations. The safety act requires, among other things, that a motor vehicle or equipment manufacturer notify its dealers of defects related to motor vehicle safety and non-compliances with federal motor vehicle safety standards.In turn, a dealer may not sell and deliver a new vehicle subject to a recall unless the recall remedy has been performed.(see 49 u.S.C. 30120(i); 49 c.F.R. 573.11)nhtsa issued an information request to southern honda on may 14, 2012 to which they responded on july 6, 2012.Nhtsa’s inquiry led it to believe that southern honda had failed to complete the requirements of five recalls that required inspections and/or repairs of motorcycles prior to their sale or delivery.Nhtsa believes that 329 motorcycles affected by recalls had not been inspected and/or repaired prior to their sale and delivery between 2007 and 2012.The agency is unaware of any deaths or injuries involving these vehicles.Nhtsa concluded that it had a potential civil penalty claim against southern honda for violations of the safety act.Southern honda denied any violations of the safety act.In order to settle this matter, southern honda agreed to pay a civil penalty in the amount of $125,000, to be paid in five annual installments.This aq is closed.

On dec 24 2016 a vehicle with bright lights was following to close to me. Motorcycle windshield was glowing a slightly blue color making it very difficult to see the roadway. Another vehicle cut me off causing me to crash due to visibility thru the windshield. I was driving slower due to an engine viibration honda dealerships could not repair

Tl* the contact owns a 2011 honda shadow phantom vt750 motorcycle. The contact was driving 40 mph when the motorcycle began to violently shake. The motorcycle was taken to the manufacturer for diagnostic testing but was not repaired. The failure continued and the motorcycle was diagnosed three times which located the failure as a flat tire, bent rims and loose screws in the steering head bearings. The motorcycle was not repaired. The dealer allowed the contact to ride another motorcycle of the same year, make and model and the contact experienced the same failure in the second motorcycle. The failure mileage was 240 and the current mileage was 1,500. Updated 08/31/11*lj
