NHTSA Mandated Recalls
  • Recall 2010078 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain vehicles, the parking brake may release if the brake system's electronic control unit misinterprets signals generated from turning the ignition key more than once at a specific rate. The release of the parking brake may cause a sudden, unexpected shift in vehicle position, resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will reprogram brake system electronic control unit.

  • Recall 2010202 [Canada]: Powertrain
On certain vehicles equipped with an international® vt365 engine, the engine calibration normally responds to a failed open accelerator position sensor circuit fault by returning the engine to low idle speed of 800 rpm and disabling the driver's ability to increase the engine speed. However, if the open circuit condition corrects itself within 30 seconds of its initiation the engine calibration misinterprets this event by going into a "limp home mode" where the engine speed is increased from low idle speed to the high idle speed of 1200 rpm. This increase to high idle speed may occur without warning causing a sudden and unexpected shift in vehicle position possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will install an updated engine calibration.

  • Recall 2012015 [Canada]: Brakes
On certain buses, if the rear brake line is not oriented properly during brake maintenance, and the bus kneeling feature is activated, the brake line "p" clip may become pinched. As a result the rear brakes may not fully release. Operating the vehicle with the rear brakes partly engaged may generate enough heat to cause a fire, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will install a clip designed to prevent improper routing of the rear brake line.

  • Recall 2008266 [Canada]: Electrical
Certain buses may exhibit engine hard start, no start, or stall conditions due to possibly damaged terminals in the fuse holder connector of the injector drive module (idm) clean battery power circuit. These terminals may have been damaged during electrical continuity testing done during the manufacturing process. Loss of vehicle propulsion, in conjunction with traffic and road conditions, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. Correction: dealers will affect repairs.
