Complaint Information: OBD II Codes

NHTSA Mandated Recalls
  • Recall 2004142 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
On certain vehicles, the seat belt tongue could become disengaged from the latch without warning in a vehicle crash or during episodes of high seat belt loading. Correction: dealer will inspect the seat belt assemblies and replace as required.

  • Recall 2004305 [Canada]: Label
Certain vehicles do not comply with the requirements of cmvss 120. The compliance label, which indicates the vehicle's gross axle weight rating (gawr), tire and wheel size and tire pressure ratings, was omitted. Correction: owners will be provided with labels and installation instructions.

  • Recall 2004356 [Canada]: Lights and instruments
On certain vehicles, the left turn signal light and the indicator lights on the instrument panel may not illuminate during hazard operation. An incorrectly manufactured switch contact causes intermittent contact in the turn signal stalk assembly. This results in intermittent left turn signal and indicator light operation when the hazard switch is activated. Intermittent light operation reduces the ability to warn other motorists of the driver's intentions. This could cause a vehicle crash without warning that may result in property damage, personal injury, or death. Correction: dealers will replace the turn signal stalk assembly.

  • Recall 2004383 [Canada]: Suspension
On certain vehicles equipped with an iros air suspension system, four fasteners that connect the main support members to the hanger bracket of the rear suspension may not have been torqued properly during assembly. With less than the specified clamp load, the bolts could fatigue and fail. A failure of these bolts could result in separation of the main support from the hanger bracket resulting in a sudden loss of control of the vehicle. This could cause a vehicle crash without warning, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will replace all four bolts.

  • Recall 2004413 [Canada]: Structure
On certain vehicles, the sixteen (16) bolts that mount the front of the cab to two (2) cast mounting brackets were not properly torqued. Without proper assembly torque, these bolts can loosen during normal vehicle use and fall out. This may lead to the cab separating from the vehicle's chassis during a crash that may result in properly damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will replace and torque all sixteen (16) bolts.
