• Recall 2001124 [Canada]: Brakes
  On certain vehicles, the automatic slack adjuster anchor brackets can fail due to fatigue fracture and completely separate, causing the slack adjusters to function as manual slack adjusters. If the support bracket for an automatic slack adjuster fails, the brakes at that wheel end will not automatically adjust. As the brake linings wear, the vehicle will have reduced braking capacity, increasing the risk of a crash. Correction: dealers will install a new bracket on each suspect slack adjuster.

• Recall 2000130 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  On certain vehicles, the four bolts that hold the bunk webbing restraint latch brackets to the bunk base may be of an incorrect grade. Grade 5 bolts were used in lieu of the required grade 8 bolts. Grade 5 bolts do not meet the original design intent of the restraint. Correction: vehicles will be inspected and all grade 5 bolts will be replaced with grade 8 bolts.

• Recall 1999052 [Canada]: Suspension
  On certain vehicles, the radius on the cone of the inner wheel bearing was incorrectly machined resulting in improper seating of the cone against the seal flange of the steering knuckle. Improper seating of the bearing can increase the stress level on the steer axle knuckle spindle as well as bearing movement and excessive bearing end play. This can result in premature bearing wear, eventual fatigue failure of the axle spindle and loss of steering control. Correction: inner wheel bearings will be inspected for proper seating and bearings that do not seat properly will be changed. The axle spindle and bearing cup will also be inspected for any damage and will be changed as required.

  On certain vehicles, the front hubs may have less than an infinite fatigue life if used with a thin brake drum. If a wheel hub experiences fatigue failure the result could be complete wheel separation from the vehicle. This could in turn cause loss of vehicle control and a crash without prior warning. Correction: both front wheel hubs will be replaced on affected vehicles.

  Note: vehicles equipped with prosleeper. A micro relay located behind the hvac control panel in the bunk of the prosleeper models can corrode in the presence of moisture, which could cause a short circuit between contacts on the relay. This could result in a vehicle fire. Correction: relay will be replaced with a sealed relay.

  Certain vehicles may have experienced loosening of the end yoke retaining nut. If this condition occurs, the driveline can vibrate and separate from the vehicle, causing vehicle damage or personal injury or both. Correction: center bearing package and coupler shaft will be replaced with a new coupler shaft and a 60mm center bearing package.

Correction: dealer will install a water shield over the back of the entire bunk control panel.
