• Recall 127486 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on january 15, 2018. • Recall 61238 [USA]: When the straps fail, the muffler can drop to the ground.
  On certain motor homes equipped with caterpillar diesel engines, the straps that support the converter mufflers to the chassis, these welds are causing the straps to fail.
  caterpillar is conducting the owner notification and remedy for this campaign. Caterpillar will have the converter muffler straps replaced free of charge. Owners may contact caterpillar at 309-675-6496 or jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

• Recall 62481 [USA]: Contamination of the water hose could occur.
  On certain motor homes, there is no option to sanitize the fresh water tanks and to prevent back-flow from the water pump.
  dealers will add a hose assembly with a valve to route the sanitation solution to the fresh tank. Also a back flow preventor will be added to the fresh water intake to prevent the water from the fresh tank from contacting the fresh hose. Owner notification began september 17, 2003. Owners should contact jayco at 1-574-825-0608.

• Recall 2017649 [Canada]: Accessories
  On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. • Recall 2004038 [Canada]: Electrical
  On certain motorhomes, exposure to heat in the engine compartment could decrease the life of the cable constraint components. This could allow the electrical cables to come in contact with, or be damaged by, exhaust components. This could cause deterioration of cable insulation or shorting of electrical cables resulting in a fire. Correction: dealers will install metal cable ties and heat shields.

Hitch failure. Traveling north on hwy 61 near clarksdale , ms. My tow vehicle broke free from my motorhome. My motorhomes hitch failed sending the car off the road and into a field. We were traveling 65 moh at the time of the occurrence. Thankfully no one was injured. The hitch is a hidden hitch model 64 6003. Now i find out that this hitch had been recalled under campaign 06e033000. These hitches need to be taken off the road before someone dies or is injured.
