• Recall 77924 [USA]: Extended operation of a leaking cooling unit could lead to a fire from gas which might escape.
  Jayco is recalling 74 my 1999-2001 designer fifth wheel motor homes equipped with norcold refrigerators. A fatigue failure in the section of the cooling unit which contains the refrigerant could allow the liquid solution to slowly leak.
  jayco is working with norcold to repair these refrigerators. Norcold will provide thermal switch kits to owners along with the necessary forms and instructions. The recall began on june 23, 2008. Owners may contact norcold at 1-800-767-9101 or jayco at 1-574-825-5861.

• Recall 38707 [USA]: Overheating could result in smoke or burning, and in an underhood fire.
  On certain motor homes built on ford chassis, the speed control deactivation switch may overheat.

• Recall 1938 [USA]: Extended operation of a leaking cooling unit in the ac electric mode can result in a fire.
  On certain travel trailers, motor homes, and fifth wheel campers equipped with norcold refrigerator cooling units, model numbers n841, n821, n641, and n621. These refrigerators can experience a cooling system leak caused by operation in the ac electric mode. If a leak occurs, the cooling performance of the refrigerator will deteriorate, requiring immediate replacement of the cooling unit.

  Vehicle description: travel and fifth wheel trailers. The fasteners used on the underfloor can either come loose or pull through the underfloor causing portions or all of a section of underfloor to detach from the vehicle.

  Vehicle description: certain motor homes equipped with safety belt assemblies produced by am-safe. On some seat belts, the buckle and connector may unlatch during a collision.

  Vehicle description: mini motor homes. Certain pleated shades failed the requirements of fmvss no. 302, "flammability of interior materials."

• Recall 2000287 [Canada]: Seats and restraints
  On certain vehicles, deformed edges on the surface of the connector portion of the belt buckle of the lap belts installed in the living portion of the motorhome, typically in barrel chairs, dinette seats and sofas, may cause the buckle to unlatch during a collision. This could leave an occupant unrestrained and could result in personal injury. Correction: buckle half of the affected seat belts will be replaced.

Tl*- the contact stated that the 2000 norcold refrigerator caught on fire on 09/25/06. The contact stated that the jayco designer series rv 5th wheel that was purchased with the norcold refrigerator had a defective refrigerator that had recall campaign 02e019000 back in 2002, he just found out about the recall from reading his good samaritan magazine. The insurance adjuster, fire investigator, and the forensic department determined that the refrigerator norcold was the cause of the fire. The contact had all reports needed for the investigation. *ak the consumer was never contacted about the recall. Updated 03/30/07. *jb

Poor design of motor home, the vehicle is overweight. *bf the consumer suggested that only two family members can ride in the vehicle, otherwise the family is over weight. Two tires had blown as a result. *sc *jb

Weld disconnected from the frame of the trailer while driving. Manufacturer was contacted.*ak trailer was towed a total of 27000 miles at time of failure in alaska total mileage on trailer 35000 miles. *tc

Tire blow out with near loss of control towing 34' 10k lb trailer. This has occurred twice with this unit. 10/2/2003 and 6/3/2004.*ak

Consumer states that the cross weight of the vehicle is too heavy,causing tires to blow out excessively.Had vehicle weighted with a certified scale. Contacted dealer. Nlm the consumer experienced tire failure three times. Twice the failure occured at left rear of the vehicle. The right rear tire failed once. *yh
