• Recall 127541 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. • Recall 95975 [USA]: An improper electrical connection at the buss bar could lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch, increasing the risk of a fire, injury or death.
  Jayco is recalling certain model year 2007 greyhawk class c motorhomes; model year 2008 and 2010 seneca class c motorhomes; model year 2009 and 2011 eagle fifth-wheel; 2010 recon fifth-wheel; and model year 2008-2010 designer fifth wheel vehicles manufactured from june 15, 2006, through august 13, 2010 for an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the iota-brand transfer switches installed in the vehicles.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer switch, free of charge. The safety recall began on august 31, 2012. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

• Recall 73397 [USA]: If the jack were to activate while the vehicle is being towed, it could result in a crash leading to property damage, injury, or death.
  Jayco is recalling certain model year 2009-2010 eagle and model year 2010 designer fifth wheel travel trailers. In the presence of moisture, a remote activation module for the leveling jack may activate autonomously without the use of the remote control.
  dealers will install a relay which will prevent the remote module from self-activating in the presence of moisture. The safety recall is expected to begin during february 2010. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

• Recall 77556 [USA]: If this condition is not addressed, it may result in a crash, injury or death.
  Jayco is recalling 222 my 2009 eagle sl travel trailers. The upper rear plastic cap can become detached from the rear wall due to improper cleaning of mating surface to allow proper adhesion.
  dealers will remove the upper rear plastic cap to install backers, new adhesive tape, add screws, and prepare the surface for proper adhesion. The recallbegan august 25, 2008. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jayco eagle fifth wheel. While the vehicle was connected to 120 volt power supply, the its-50r automatic failed melting numerous wires within the transfer switch. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed the vehicle was in need of a transfer switch replacement. Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jayco eagle fifth wheel. The contact stated he had smelled a burning odor. The automatic transfer switch box had caught on fire and burned through the box cover. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who advised that the cover of the automatic transfer switch box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.

I travel from gatineau,quebec canada to bradenton,fl with my new jayco eagle 328rls. 3 miles after leaving interstate 75 in bradenton,fl the rear axel detach from the frame on driver side. Our 1 year old daughter pushed open the screen door and fell out of the camper, which was a fall of about three feet. The screen door was latched shut. Obviously, the latch is not very strong since a 1 year old child could push it open. There is no lock on the screen door and no warnings anywhere in the camper or in the owner's manual indicating that the screen door is not child proof. She did not fall through the screen, but actually was able to push the door open. What kind of door should a 1 year old child be able to open, which is completely closed? She sustained a mild head injury with some cuts and bruising on her face. Our main concern here is child safety- that this does not happen to another family with a worse outcome. There should be a mandatory lock on the screen door or a warning on the door indicating its lack of strength and lack of safety for children. We contacted jayco and their investigation concluded that there was nothing wrong with the situation. As stated earlier, the main concern here is safety for children, which would be greatly improved by adding a lock to the screen door and/or adding warning signs to the door to indicate lack of protection for children. *tr

Tl*the contact owns a 2009 jayco eagle sl. The contact purchased the vehicle in august of 2008. The following month he received a recall notice for nhtsa campaign id number 08v402000 (structure) and immediately called the dealer. The dealer stated that the parts were unavailable to perform the proper repairs. The manufacturer stated that the parts were being shipped and would arrive the following week. The parts were never received so the contact returned to the dealer. They were extremely cooperative, but still did not have the parts available. The manufacturer did not offer any assistance. As of september 25, 2008, the vehicle has not been repaired. The failure and current mileages were not applicable. Updated 10/29/08. *jb
