  • Recall 127541 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
    Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.     jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on january 15, 2018.   • Recall 95975 [USA]: An improper electrical connection at the buss bar could lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch, increasing the risk of a fire, injury or death.
    Jayco is recalling certain model year 2007 greyhawk class c motorhomes; model year 2008 and 2010 seneca class c motorhomes; model year 2009 and 2011 eagle fifth-wheel; 2010 recon fifth-wheel; and model year 2008-2010 designer fifth wheel vehicles manufactured from june 15, 2006, through august 13, 2010 for an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the iota-brand transfer switches installed in the vehicles.
    jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer switch, free of charge. The safety recall began on august 31, 2012. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

  • Recall 2008288 [Canada]: Brakes
    On certain trailers, the upper rear abs cap can become detached from the rear wall and if condition not addressed, it may result in an accident, injury or death. Correction: dealers will remove the upper abs cap to install backers, new adhesive tape, add screws and prep surface for proper adhesion.

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jayco eagle fifth wheel. While the vehicle was connected to 120 volt power supply, the its-50r automatic failed melting numerous wires within the transfer switch. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed the vehicle was in need of a transfer switch replacement. The vin was not included in nhtsa campagn number: 12v347000 (electrical system). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. There was no mileage. Updated 06/15/16*lj *tr

Tl* the contact owns a 2009 jayco eagle fifth wheel. The contact stated he had smelled a burning odor. The automatic transfer switch box had caught on fire and burned through the box cover. The vehicle was inspected by an independent mechanic, who advised that the cover of the automatic transfer switch box needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the problem. The approximate failure mileage was unavailable.
