Recall 127479 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 38247 [USA]: In the event of a crash, a seat occupant may not be properly restrained increasing the risk of personal injury or death.
On certain motor homes built on chevrolet chassis, the safety belt buckles may not latch or unlatch. general motors is conducting this recall (please see 05v558000) and will inspect the buckles and, if found to be inoperative, the entire buckle assembly would be replaced. For buckles found to be operative, dealers will replace only the upper buckle cover. Recall 51683 [USA]: This condition, if not addressed, could result in a fire, accident, injury or death.
On certain motor homes, the wire harness may have been routed too close to the exhaust tail pipe which may result in the cable melting and creating an electrical short. dealers will inspect, reroute and replace the wire harness free of charge. The recall began on february 7, 2006. Recall 36095 [USA]: This condition, if not addressed, could result in a crash, injury or death.
Certain motor homes may have u-joint retaining clips missing or not installed properly. If the retaining clips are not installed properly, the u-joint may become dislodged from the yoke and the drive shaft will become disconnected from the drive train. dealers have completed the repairs to 100 percent of the units at the factory and at dealerships. Recall 61304 [USA]: This condition could result in a crash, injury or death.
Certain motor homes built on chevrolet C3500 (express) cutaway chassis have a towing pigtail that will not show brake lights on the towed vehicle if hooked to the towing pigtail. dealers will rewire the towing pigtail wires to include the brake light circuit free of charge. The recall began on october 31, 2005. Recall 2017649 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Recall 2006012 [Canada]: Powertrain
On certain vehicles, the u-joint retaining clips may have been omitted during vehicle assembly. This can allow the driveshaft to separate from the transmission while the vehicle is in motion, endangering other road users. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if necessary, install retaining clips or replace the u-joint assembly.
Recall 2006017 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, the wire harness may have been routed too close to the exhaust tailpipe. Heat from the tailpipe could melt the harness cable insulation, creating an electrical short. This condition, if not addressed, may cause a vehicle fire, possibly resulting in property damage, personal injury or death. Correction: dealers will inspect and, if required, reroute or replace the wire harness.
Recall 2005303 [Canada]: Electrical
On certain motorhomes, the towing pigtail was wired incorrectly and, as a result, will not illuminate the brake lights on the towed vehicle. Correction: dealers will rewire the towing pigtail.
