Jayco Hummingbird 2017

• Recall 125131 [USA]: The incorrect information on the label may result in the tires being over inflated, which could lead to their failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2017 hummingbird travel trailers, models h13C0567-0603, 0608-0636, 0638-0662, and h13e0052-0110. The labels on the affected vehicles incorrectly state that the vehicle is equipped with 14" load range d tires requiring 65 psi, when the vehicle is actually equipped with 14" load range c tires requiring 50 psi. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard (fmvss) number 110, "tire selection and rims."
  jayco will notify owners, and will provide corrected labels, free of charge. The recall began on july 13, 2017. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for this recall is 9901357.

  Jayco inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2017 jay flight bungalow, hummingbird, white hawk, jay flight slx, jay feather 7, jay feather and jay flight fifth wheel recreational trailers. The led ceiling lights may produce excessive heat.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the affected led ceiling lights with a different light, free of charge. The recall began on may 24, 2017. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267. Jayco's number for the recall is 9901349.

• Recall 2017330 [Canada]: Label
  On certain travel trailers, the certification, tire and loading information labels do not contain correct tire load range and inflation pressure information. The labels indicate a tire size of st205/75r14 with load range d and 448 kpa (65 psi) inflation pressure. The correct tire load range is c and 345 kpa (50 psi) inflation pressure. As a result, the tires could be overinflated or the vehicle fitted with incorrect replacement tires. This could affect vehicle handling and increase the risk of tire failure causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.

• Close equipment query investigation # EQ17002

  June 5, 2017, jayco, inc. (jayco) notified nhtsa of a safety-related defect in certain 2017 jay flight bungalow, hummingbird, white hawk, jay flight slx, jay feather 7, jay feather and jay flight fifth wheel recreational trailers. A recall, 17v-290 was filed. According to the report, the trailers are equipped with led ceiling lights that produce extreme high temperature during normal use which may cause light failure. Some of the failure characteristics noted are melting of the plastic housing, smoldering, and charred and scorched ceiling panels. The excessive heat from the led ceiling lights may increase the risk of a fire.Jayco identified command electronics, inc. (command) as the supplier of the ceiling lights. Command has indicated that it supplied the same component to other manufacturers, but has not yet filed a defect information report in accordance with 49 c.F.R. §573.3(f).Rmd opened eq investigation in 07/21/2017 to obtain information regarding the additional manufacturers that were supplied with the component identified by jayco, and to determine whether additional safety recalls are required by any of those identified companies.Two years past, rmd found not enough evidences that the same led ceiling lights would produce extreme high temperature during normal use from other users beside jayco, inc. Rmd is satisfied with findings. Accordingly, this eq is closed.
