Recall 127499 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. Recall 50118 [USA]: Misprinted labels could lead to failure to follow proper vehicle loading specifications or tire inflation recommendation which could result in tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
Certain travel trailers fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 110, 'tire selection and rims.' the federal identification label and the tire loading information placard has the incorrect tire inflation listed. owners will be provided with new tire information placards and installation instructions. At the customer's option, a dealer can perform the installation for them. The recall began on april 28, 2006. Recall 2017649 [Canada]: Accessories
On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Recall 2006088 [Canada]: Label
On certain travel trailers, the tire inflation pressure indicated on the certification label is not correct. The label shows a tire inflation pressure of 65 psi (449 kpa) instead of 50 psi (345 kpa). Correction: dealers will install updated labels indicating correct tire inflation pressure.
