• Recall 127514 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. • Recall 91653 [USA]: Overheated and worn bearings may lead to axle failure while driving, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Jayco is recalling certain model year 2012-2013 jay flight swift slx travel trailers manufactured from october 24, 2011, through july 3, 2012. These trailers may have oversized bearings installed in the axle. This may cause excessive movement in the wheel hub, causing the bearings to become overheated and worn.

• Recall 92857 [USA]: Relying on the a misprinted label could lead to improper vehicle loading specifications or tire inflation which could result in a tire failure, increasing the risk of a crash.
  Jayco is recalling certain model year 2012 jay flight bungalow travel trailers, manufactured from march 19, 2012, through march 27, 2012. The load range and the cold tire inflation pressure on these trailers are incorrectly identified. Thus, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of federal motor vehicle safety standard no. 120, ?Tire selection and rims for motor vehicles other than passenger cars.?

  Jayco is recalling certain model year 2012 jay flight and eagle super lite ? Ton travel trailers manufactured from october 6, 2011, through october 17, 2011. The power converters may have been built with an undersized input coil, which may cause overheating, smoking, and melting of the converter.

  On certain travel trailers, the compliance label and the tire and loading information label do not contain correct tire information. The labels incorrectly indicate a load range of st235/80r16d instead of st235/80r16e, and a tire pressure of 448 kpa (65 psi) instead of 552 kpa (80 psi). Overloaded and/or under inflated tires may lead to poor vehicle handling characteristics, which could result in a crash causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: updated labels will be mailed to owners of affected vehicles, along with instructions for proper installation.

• Recall 2012260 [Canada]: Suspension
  On certain travel trailers, oversized wheel bearings may have been inadvertently installed during the assembly process. This may result in excessive movement of the wheel hub, which could cause the bearing to become overheated and worn. Bearing failure can cause a wheel-end fire, which could result in property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the wheel bearing assemblies.

  On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Gross and hitch weight of travel trailer/towing safety. The consumer and his wife had difficulty towing the trailer, especially when it was windy or when a large truck was passing. The consumer took the trailer to be weighed, and it was discovered the weight on the trailer exceeded the amount that was advertised both in the brochure and on the sticker on trailer. The consumer stated that trailer was unsafe to tow behind a vehicle. Prior to purchasing the trailer, the consumer showed the salesperson the towing capacity information for their vehicle. The documentation provided to the consumer stated the hitch weight for the trailer was 780 pounds. Based on that information, the salesperson at the dealer advised the consumer the trailer was within weight that could safely tow the vehicle. The consumer believed the documentation provided to him, by the dealership fraudulently misrepresented the weight of the trailer. ...Updated 11-06-13 *bf
