• Recall 127610 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on january 15, 2018.   On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. Tl* the contact owns a 2015 jayco jay series 1001 xr. The contact stated that the vehicle was a prop-up camper with an electric motor. When the top was completely raised, it collapsed. The mechanism bolt that raised the roof had been stripped. The manufacturer was contacted and promised a call back; however, they had not called back. The manufacturer claimed that they were busy with many call back issues. Camping world of mesquite (2764 i-30, mesquite, tx 75150, (469) 917-0364) advised the contact to call the jayco manufacturer directly.

Fmvss 571.120 directs in 5.1.2 that the tire load capacity shall "not be less than the gawr" i have a photo of a jaco rv certification label i captured june 7 2018 in (xxxx), in (xxxxx) gvwr 20,000 gawr of 7,000# tire size st235/80r16e and 80 psi according to the tire & rim association yearbook that size tire is rated for 3,420# at 80 psi please advise as i am concerned for the safety of the owners.
