We have been in contact with jayco mfg from the beginning. My wife and i have experienced four catastrophic blowouts in the last ten months on our new camper. The brakes on these 12" tires seem to be overheating the wheels causing extreme temperatures on the tires until it finally explodes. The third tire we blew only had the inside bead remaining on the rim. I locked out the brakes and haven't had any problems last week driving over 2,100 miles. (dot number: unknown tiresize: 5.30x12)

On vacation, south carolina, 70 mph flat road, no hazards, 91 degrees outside temp. Air pressure 80psi in tire. I had been watching unusual wear on driver side read inside dual for 3000 miles. Tire was wearing tread lines uneven. Of the 5 tread lines on the tire, tread lines 2 and 4 were cupped and worn more than the rest of any of the tires. I had the tires checked by numerous tire facilities to ensure balance, rim, fit, etc. No one could find anything wrong. The passenger side started doing the same thing and this got me concerned. While on the trip after about 500 miles of driving, to my surprise, the "passenger" side blew out. Not the tire i expected to have trouble. When the tire blew, it completely delaminated the entire tread from the tire leaving only the sidewalls on the rim. These tires still have 3/8 inch of tread on them! The force of the separation took me off the road without accident but the tread when leaving my vehicle, destroyed the gas line filler hose, the alluminum undercarriage box that holds the power distribution panel, the fresh water pumping system and the side body panel infront of the tire. The metal box that holds the rv's equipment can't be repaired, it must be replaced. I saved a fragment of the tire but was unable to locate the rest of the tread. The only reason i have a piece of the tire is because it was cut by the plate steel support of the frame and wedged itself into the chasis corner. I realize that the atx tires are the ones being recalled but i think there might be something else going on. I still have 5 other firestone tires that are exhibiting unusual wear. If this had been a front tire?????( dot number: tire size: ltx225/75r )

Goodyear tire experienced tread separation which also caused damage to the vehicle, goodyear stated the tire had low air pressure and was the reason for the tire failure, the consumer states this statement is untrue and is requesting reimbursement for the damages to the vehicle. *slc
