• Recall 127528 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.   jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on january 15, 2018. • Recall 91938 [USA]: Overheating and melting of the transfer switch increases the risk of a fire.
  Jayco, inc., (jayco) is recalling certain model year 2008-2009 and 2011 greyhawk class c motorhomes, model year 2008-2011 melbourne class c motorhomes, and 2008-2010 octane sport utility travel trailers manufactured from may 21, 2007, through september 10, 2010, equipped with iota-brand transfer switches. These trailers may have an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the affected transfer switches. This improper connection may lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer switch, free of charge. The recall began on october 10, 2012. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

The frame appears to be bending just aft of the differential on the passenger side dropping the rear of the motorhome and causing internal damage to the coach at the spot of the bend. Numerous complaints to jayco have been made. Jayco modified the frame on this e450 by adding a section into the frame. This condition has happened over time and was noticed in the frst 4 years of ownership. I bought this coach new. I had it inspected and the inspecion only revealed that there was a problem, with no further description of the problem. There hasve been no incidents related to this problem. Picture #1 is a view of the floor that shos it is bowing. #2 shows how the cabinet at floor level has broken and opened up. Picture #3 shows the first problem experienced with this rig, wherre the after section of the overload springs were catching on the frame. This was fixed by removing a section of the spring.

Consumer writes in regards to electrical system malfunction recall notice. *smd the consumer stated the main circuit breaker tripped when the camper was connected a power source. The outlet at the park was checked and no problem was found. The consumer used his generator, and was able to switch the 30 amp to on the next day. A month later, the consumer stopped to an rv park, and was unable to receive 30 amp electricity. The park manager checked the power source and found no problem with the outlet. When the consumer arrived at his son's house, he connected the camper to the 30 amp outlet newly installed by a certified electrician, when suddenly he smelled smoke inside the camper. The electrician pulled the panel located under the bed and found the electrical box housing the transfer switch and the connection bar melted. The consumer contacted the manufacturer and reported the problem. They repeatedly failed to return his calls. The consumer purchased a replacement transfer switch, and took the rv to a repair shop. The manufacturer paid for the labor only. Jayco informed the consumer his rv was not part of the recall, and he would not be reimbursed for the part, and they paid for the labor as a good will gesture.
