• Recall 152731 [USA]: Incorrect routing of the hydraulic line can cause the line to melt from the exhaust heat, resulting in a loss of braking, increasing the risk of a crash or fire.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2014-2018 precept motorhomes built on ford f53 chassis. The hydraulic lines may have been incorrectly routed too close to the exhaust without a heat shield.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will inspect and correct the hydraulic line routing as necessary and install a heat shield, free of charge. The recall began november 14, 2019. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903440.

• Recall 142264 [USA]: If the wiring in the circuit overheats, it can increase the risk of fire.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain 2014-2019 precept, 2016-2019 alante and 2019 precept prestige motorhomes built on a ford f53 chassis. The blower motor electrical circuit may be missing the 25amp fuse, possibly resulting in overheating of the wiring.
  jayco has notified owners, and dealers will install a 25amp fuse, free of charge. The recall began april 16, 2019. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-517-9137. Jayco's number for this recall is 9903432.

• Recall 127560 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable. • Recall 105155 [USA]: Damaged wires may short, increasing the risk of a fire.
  Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling certain model year 2014-2015 precept motorhomes manufactured january 3, 2013, to july 14, 2014. Due to the routing and inadequate protection of the wiring for the driver's and passenger's electric seats, the wires may get damaged by the seats moving up and down, and back and forth.
  jayco will notify owners, and dealers will reroute the electric seat wires and install an additional 10 amp circuit breaker, free of charge. The recall began in september 2014. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267.

  Issue: on certain motorhomes, the hydraulic lines for the levelling system may be routed too close to the exhaust system. This could cause them to overheat and melt. If this happens, hydraulic oil could leak onto the exhaust system. Additionally, a heat shield was not installed over the exhaust system. Safety risk: an oil leak onto a hot exhaust system could cause a fire. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct them to take their vehicle to a dealer to inspect the hydraulic lines for the levelling system. The lines will be rerouted as necessary and a heat shield will be installed.

  Issue: on certain motorhomes, the dash blower motor does not have proper fuse protection. As a result, an electrical overload or short circuit could cause the wiring to overheat. Safety risk: wiring that overheats could create a risk of a fire. Corrective actions: the company will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your motorhome to a dealer to install a fuse for the dash blower. A 25 ampere fuse will be installed in position 23 in the power distribution box. Dealers will also install a label in the fuse box noting "fuse position 23 max. 25 a".

  On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly. 2015 jayco motor home. Consumer writes in regards to amperage fuse safety recall. *ld the consumer stated the calls for taking out a 40 amperage fuse to replace it with a 25 amperage fuse , but there is no 25 amperage fuse. The only options are 20 or 30 amperage. *js

On our first trip across country in our new precept 35un, we discovered a severe head light issue. The headlights were pointed down straight at the pavement about 15 feet off the front of the coach. I had to white knuckle a 5 hour drive in the western nebraska. Westbound us20 without a light in sight. My high beams were on our entire drive and i never had one passing vehicle in the opposing lane flash at me. When i looked inside the hood to see if i could make an adjustment, my head spun. The contraption that holds the head lights in place didn't make for an easy adjustment. I did what i could, but it barely made a difference. I pulled into a ford dealership at my earliest convenience. We were told it was a jayco issue. I eventually got home to connecticut from wyoming doing the best we could to avoid driving at night. We dropped off the coach at the jayco dealership and asked them to fix the headlights. When picking up the coach, it was explained to us that jayco will not fix the headlight issue. The service manager explained that he himself is aware of multiple customer complaints with this model from his dealership alone. He said that jayco is aware of the problem and they will not address it other that asking the techs to do the best they can to fix them. In speaking with the tech that worked on my precept, he said that he did the best he could, but they couldn't bring them to anywhere close to where they need to be. My wife sent an email about this and several other issues we had on our trip to you back on 10/19 and has only received the automated response thanking her for her inquiry and that you would be contacting us shortly. We've yet to receive any response.
