  • Recall 127540 [USA]: In the event of a fire, if the fire extinguisher does not function properly, it can increase the risk of injury.
    Jayco, inc. (jayco) is recalling various 2002-2016 recreational vehicles equipped with kidde plastic-handle or push button 'pindicator' fire extinguishers. A list of the affected trailer models is available at: https://static.Nhtsa.Gov/odi/rcl/2017/rmisc-17v746-9524.Pdf. These extinguishers may become clogged, preventing the extinguisher from discharging as expected or excessive force may be needed to activate the extinguisher. Additionally, in certain models, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury and also render the product inoperable.     jayco will notify owners, instructing them to contact kidde for a replacement fire extinguisher, free of charge. The recall began on january 15, 2018. Owners may contact jayco customer service at 1-800-283-8267, or kidde customer service toll-free at 1-855-262-3540, or online at www.Kidde.Com and click on "product safety recall" for more information.

  • Recall 95974 [USA]: An improper electrical connection at the buss bar could lead to overheating and melting of the transfer switch, increasing the risk of a fire, injury or death.
    Jayco is recalling certain model year 2007 greyhawk class c motorhomes; model year 2008 and 2010 seneca class c motorhomes; model year 2009 and 2011 eagle fifth-wheel; 2010 recon fifth-wheel; and model year 2008-2010 designer fifth wheel vehicles manufactured from june 15, 2006, through august 13, 2010 for an improper electrical connection at the buss bar on the iota-brand transfer switches installed in the vehicles.
    jayco will notify owners, and dealers will replace the transfer switch, free of charge. The safety recall began on august 31, 2012. Owners may contact jayco at 1-800-283-8267.

  • Recall 2017649 [Canada]: Accessories
    On certain vehicles equipped with kidde fire extinguishers with black plastic handles and valves, the fire extinguishers may become clogged or require excessive force to activate. Also, the nozzle may detach from the valve assembly with enough force that it could cause injury, and fail to discharge. In case of fire, failure of the extinguisher to function could result in injury and/or property damage. Correction: owners will be provided with instructions on how to inspect the fire extinguisher to see if it is recalled. Replacement fire extinguishers will be supplied by kidde directly.   • Recall 2012223 [Canada]: Electrical
    On certain motorhomes and fifth wheel trailers, an incorrect electrical connection at the transfer switch buss bar could cause the transfer switch to overheat and melt. This could result in a vehicle fire causing property damage and/or personal injury. Correction: dealers will replace the transfer switch.

On trip pulling my jayco camper south on texas 59. South of wharton, texas. We were traveling 60 miles per hour headed south. I experienced a blow out on the right side of my rv (recreational vehicle). This blow out caused serious damage to the fender area of my rv. This was a hi-run trailer tire. I replaced that tire with my spare. I continued south on 59 for about another hour when i had another blow out. Again this was a hi-run trailer tire. These two tires were replace new in june 2013. They were new and just a little over a year old with less that 500 miles on them they blew out with both causing serious damage to the rv walls and fender wells. These tire were marked manufactured in china.
