• Recall 91552 [USA]: If this increased vibration warning sign is ignored, catastrophic failure of the drive coupling can occur. the driveshaft may detach from the vehicle while in motion resulting in loss of drive and loss of transmission park functionality, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash and/or injury.
  Jaguar land rover north america, inc. (land rover) is recalling certain rear driveshaft couplings, land rover branded part number tvf100010, manufactured from april 2011 through november 2011, sold for use as service parts for certain model year 1995-1999 discovery, 1999-2004 discovery ii, and 1995 range rover classic vehicles. Some of the rear driveshaft couplings may not have been manufactured to the required engineering design specifications and may exhibit the onset of joint separation, precluded by drive line vibration.

• Recall 14052 [USA]: Deployment of the air bag restraint system without warning can cause a driver to lose vehicle control.
  Vehicle description: passenger vehicles. As a result of chaffing of a cruise control wire, the steering wheel rotary coupler can overheat and inadvertently deploy the driver's air bag.
  dealers will install a fusible link which will protect the rotary coupler from overheating.

• Recall 16543 [USA]: The nuts can loosen, ultimately causing the disconnection of one or both of the driveshafts resulting in loss of control of the vehicle.
  At port of entry, a quality overcheck of the differential pinion shaft torque was performed. This check required the removal of the driveshafts. When the driveshafts were reinstalled, the wrong sized nuts were used.

  Certain vehicles may have received an incorrectly manufactured rear driveshaft coupling (part number tvf100010) as a replacement part during service. Drive coupling failure could allow the driveshaft to detach from the vehicle, resulting in a loss of propulsion which, in conjunction with traffic and road condition, and the driver's reactions, could increase the risk of a crash. As well, a driveshaft separating from the vehicle could strike another vehicle, stationary object, or bystander. These issues could result in property damage and/or personal injury.   Due to the proximity of the srs and cruise control circuits in the area of the steering wheel, an electrical short in the cruise control could cause the rotary coupler to fail. This could initiate an involuntary deployment of the driver-side air bag. Correction: a fused link will be added to the cruise control circuit on all vehicles equipped with a driver-side air bag.

  The right front door may fail to fully latch, causing the door to "bounce" back off of the door seals. This condition could lead to inadvertent opening of the door which would put an occupant seated next to the door at risk of harm. Correction: an extended length latch mounting fastener will be installed to assure proper orientation of the right front door latch relative to the mounting leg of the adjacent window frame. In some cases where latch loads have been excessive, replacement of the latch may be required.

Landrover never notified me of multiple recalls as 1st and only owner multiple repairs dealer won't honor recall repairs pass right door hinge failure. Rear caro door look failure. Gas tank crack leaking. Cruise control prob and air bag light on. Exterior light failure. Window failure 3x to openfront/ rear regulator and or motor multiple times. Brakes failure multiple times replaced master cylander 2x& booster. Oil leaking g oil cooling hoses fail. Plus... Starter. Alternator. Ignition system .Belts and multiple hose replaced. This is a parts black hole vehicle costng thousands in repairs. Once out of warranty dealers ripped me off always stating unrelated issues. No one else. An or will work on the car. Same things continue to fail. Manufactuer won't address issues or honor recall's. Car has 101k miles. Original owner stuck repairing unreliable car i can't afford new car and won't sell lemon to someone else . It's not right. Ripped off. Y mechanic. Filled multiple buearu of automotive repairs complaints against dishonest estimate shops. Please help do something replaced fuel pump for stealing non start and was ripped off door opens when locked and driving. Fuel leaks filling tank. Oil everywhere a fire hazard no one will help. While driving approximately 55 mph with the cruise control engaged, there was a smoke odor as the cruise control independently disengaged and the vehicle made a jerking motion. The srs and abs warning indicators illuminated. The contact discovered a burning odor coming from the steering column. The dealer stated that the vehicle was not included in nhtsa campaign number: 98v040000 (air bags, vehicle speed control). The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 159,000.

He also stated that he could not turn the steering wheel, although the wheels would turn. As of september 26, 2007, the dealer had not inspected the vehicle. The failure mileage was 155,000 and current mileage was 161,983.

The dealer stated that the fuel pump needed to be replaced before replacing the fuel tank. Also, they stated that it would cost the contact approximately $500 to replace the fuel pump. Dt*: the contact stated after parking the vehicle atop a hill, the vehicle was placed in park, the emergency brake applied, and the key was removed from the ignition. The contact exited the vehicle and witnessed the vehicle rolling downhill and striking a tree. The vehicle sustained frontal impact damage and the frontal airbags deployed upon impact. A passenger sitting in the rear who was not wearing a seat belt sustained minor injuries. The police were on the scene and a report was taken. Dt: the contact stated three-four years ago the car started leaking oil because the manufacturer installed cork gaskets instead of rubber gaskets. He had it repaired three-four years ago that cost the contact $1,100. Currently, it is leaking again and it is going to cost him $2,400. *ak

Received letter from land rover north america about a recall #b-156 on my 1995 land rover discovery [xxx]. I am unable to find anything on your web site that guarantees this letter i received is a safety concern for my vehicle. Land rover maintains that i need to take my vehicle to an authorized dealer to inspect the fuel tank. With the past experiences this vehicle has with land rovers authorized dealers and their not so trained technicians and cost suffered from their mistakes, i find traveling two hours, then sitting waiting while my vehicle suffers unknowns then driving back home for two hours isn't rational. Dt: caller got a recall on the gas tank.. He has a crack in gas tank, and the dealer is giving him no help. Dealer keeps making excuses why they cant do recall work. Manufacturer has offered no help.*ak
