  Due to a material specification change combined with inadequate tool design and process control it is possible that stress cracking can occur at either the fuel tank vent valve ring welding the breather pipe weld or the filler pipe stub.
  replace the fuel tank with an improved design.

• Recall 2004134 [Canada]: Fuel supply
  On certain vehicles, stress cracks can be initiated in the plastic fuel tank at the vent valve welding ring, the breather pipe weld or at the filler pipe stub. Owners may notice a fuel smell emanating from their vehicle. If these cracks continue to propagate, fuel leakage could result. Fuel leakage in the presence of an ignition source could result in a fire. Correction: dealer will replace the fuel tank with one of an improved design.

  The power window and sunroof switches on these vehicles may latch in the downward or upward positions and not automatically return to their normal "off" position. This could result in personal injury to an occupant if the switch stuck while moving the window or sunroof panel to the closed position. Correction: window switches and sunroof switch will be replaced on affected vehicles.

  These vehicles do not comply with regulation 6 - statement of compliance. The vehicle identification label located on the driver's side door has incorrect gross vehicle weight rating (gvwr), gross axle weight ratings (gawr), tire size, rim size and cold tire inflation pressure (rear only) information. Correction: new vehicle identification label will be installed.

Fuel leaks when tank is filled to approximately 7/8 capacity. Noticeable fuel smell and possible leak when filled to 3/4 capacity. *tr

After 23,000 miles, brakes need to be replaced. *tr

While driving on the freeway @ about 65 mph a loud screeching noise just came out of no where then the vehicle would not accelerate when putting your foot on the gas & when i tried to accelerate it was accompanied by more loud grinding noises! We were almost killed on the freeway because we were in the fast lane & the car locked up!!! I had to have it towed home @ a cost of $300. There was an investigation opened for her problem action # ea0712 for component power train:driveline:differential unit, power train:axle assembly:axle shaft, power train:driveline:driveshaft. Prior to this i have had no problems or any signs of any problem with my 2004 range rover hse. I called range rover today (monday 11/26/07) @ 1-800-637-6837 and was rudely advised by the rep. That she wasn't a auto mechanic & that i would have to deal with it with my local dealership. I can't imagine this just being a normal routine problem in owning this car & would like a answer. I love my rover but can't afford to have this happen! *tr

I always had a problem with transmission which was replaced once 2 year ago and now i need to do out of my pocket all over again. *tr

While driving at speed in excess of 60mph the suspension, transmission, driveshafts failed multiple times. Require tow serviced each time due to complete powerfailures. Vehicle locked and forced me into emergency lane on the nj turnpike. Landrover replaced only the battery and alternator the first time and 3 months later the failure happened again , and they replaced the battery and alternator again. Vehicle has electronic problems i have had speakers,ecu sensors, steering wheel motor, parking sensors all replaced in a 12 month span of a 2 year lease. Landrover will not help me obtain a safe replacement for the remained of my lease. *tr

2003 range rover hse , loud knocking noise when going from reverse to drive, 5 minutes later a grinding noise happened that was very loud. The car responded with a loud grinding sound when trying to apply gas. I was lucky that i was not on a highway and could pull the car over. *tr the check engine light illuminated, there was a radiator leak and the left rear tire had a slow leak. Updated 10/11/07. *jb

2-9-05-driving on the highway. Veichle shut down on motorway, vehicle making loud grinding noise will not move in any gear. Had to wait to be towed back to dealership. It was a faulty front fif assemby.Replace front fiff and align. Replace drive shaft. 8-23-07-driving on a highway. Veicle making grinding noise while on the highway. Had to pull over the car would not accelerate. Car was towed into shop after 4 hours of waiting on the highway and being towed. Front diff and drive shaft splines stripped. Replced front diff and driveshaft

While driving on i-69n at 70 mph, the top half of our landrover car top carrier (top box s class tour monacar) came off and fell into the oncoming traffic along with most of items packed in the carrier, including golf clubs, tennis rackets, fishing poles, a duffel bag packed with clothing and miscellaneous items. When we retrieved the top half of the car top carrier, it was determined that the top portion of the carrier had sheared off below the locking mechanism, despite the fact that the latch was secured tightly and that the lock had been activated. Despite heavy traffic volume due to it being a holiday weekend, there were no injuries or accidents. There was significant damage to the items in the car, our car and, of course, the carrier.

Power steering pump failed a few month ago and the warranty company replaced it in may 07 w/a generic pump. 2 weeks later it failed again, but this time ruined the reservoir and radiator, so those items had to be replaced as well. The dealer replaced w/ a lr pspump, but it failed. So they replaced it with another, but it failed one week later. The warranty company approved an engine replacement, which was completed. I had the car one day and it was returned to lr b/c it was making a horrible noise. Lr replaced the rack and pinion steering. I drove the car for one week and the power steering pump failed while i was driving and i could not steer the vehicle. Lr towed the car and replaced the ps pump again. I just picked it up yesterday. *tr
