  Issue: on certain vehicles, if the hazard lights are switched on while the ignition is off, the lights on some interior switches may not work. When the ignition and lights are turned on, the lights on the switches may stay off. Canadian regulations require certain switches to light up when the ignition is on and the lights are switched on. Note: if the hazard lights are switched off, then the ignition is cycled to off - and back on again - the switch lights should work properly. Additional note: this is an expansion of mercedes-benz recall 5493102 (transport canada recall no. 2020-062). Safety risk: while there is a low risk to safety, lighting of important switches is required by canadian regulations. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to update the instrument cluster software.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, the repairs for recall 2021-052 may not have been properly completed. As a result, a second inspection is necessary. On certain vehicles, the outside of the driver's sun visor does not have the required airbag warning label. Canadian regulations require that information about the airbag system is provided on both sides of the sun visor. Safety risk: this label provides a driver with information about the airbags and/or child restraint safety recommendations. Not following these recommendations could create an increased risk of injury. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and instruct you to take your vehicle to a dealer to replace the driver's sun visor.

  Issue: on certain vehicles, a software problem could cause the rearview camera image not to appear on the central display. Canadian regulations require the rearview image to display when the transmission is shifted into reverse gear. Safety risk: a rearview camera image that does not display could reduce a driver's ability to see behind the vehicle while backing up. This could increase the risk of a crash. Corrective actions: mercedes-benz will notify owners by mail and send a wireless over-the-air software update to each vehicle. If the update cannot be completed successfully, you will be notified to schedule an appointment to have the update performed by a dealer.
